http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u6SDj3IhTBA Discuss away. I've tested extracted ISOs on my 360 HDD, and they load and execute just fine. If you need to apply updates, xextool [-p] works perfectly.

Sounds very promising, finally the "scene" becomes available to the every day man.

Still need access to an un-updated box. Plus willing to give up live.

Maybe not the everyday man. But the every second day man.

Wow Jester what a supportive thing to say after I lost the chip BECAUSE of the removal. My soldering skills are quite fine BELIEVE ME. I did it for 26 hours one night for stage pockets so don't turn this around on me, all I am saying is I recommend someone use something simpler such as the printer cable method. And just for ty6ukm5r48m79w

And just for record man a lot of people dislike the pad's and a lot of people are requesting otherwise. I don't know why you would get so defensive over a product I had a bad experience with but don't turn on me because of it. But thank you for basically saying "sucks for you, your an idiot" in so little words. Now to get back on the path of running this since my friends and I actually know what we are doing with software pertaining to this hack I must get it running so if anyone has helpful pointers please dish them out because there is some things I am testing in the near future that is important and not to mention I was also contacted to do some beta testing for these exploits and I would like to get this on the ball so please stop with the discouraging comments because obviously I am upset with losing $85.00 so if you disagree with my rant you may but don't spin it on me because the problems with the 360 board happened when removing the chip.

As I mentioned previously, if you've horked the traces on the board/chip then you're probably out of luck with your current setup.

If you can repair the traces on the board, then you can always install another chip.

If you don't want to bother (and really, there's no really need unless you absolutely require a dual NAND setup for testing) then just solder up a flash cable directly to the NAND and use Nandpro.

If you don't have a machine with a parallel port, just snag an old box off CL or head to a local electronics store and pick up a PCI card with a parallel port on it. Personally this is one of the reasons why I keep an old laptop around. Parallel ports may be "old" tech, but they are well documented and reliable.

You can wire up a flash cable for USB if you must, but I'd recommend sticking with the parallel port to read and write the flash.

Finally, if you ever do any sort of quick-solder work in the future and decide you want to remove the chip don't use the soldering gun to do it. It will save you headache down the road.

Hope this helps out a bit.

Well I dont think you read the topic as is right now you don't have to give up live, but hopefully soon that will change, and getting un-updated box's may become a problem in the future.

Well for the most part I was reading that at work a few minutes ago. Question though, I have an LPT port. Picked up 330 ohm at radioshack for the cygnos360 but what else do I need. so far I have:

    Xenon
    LPT port on PC Mobo
    330 ohm
    soldering iron
    solder
    some tiny wire

Thats about it. Software and soldering should be a walk in the park since I can solder wire fine but I just need requirements so i can get this running because I think my 360 is crying from all the probing.

Here is one that uses diodes if needed.

You need the lpt connector to plug into the pc, and I would use some old ribbon cable instead of the small wire but was ever you think is best. You could even use cat5 cable. And the Diode to connect to pin 4 is a must most of the time.

Link to what "the LPT connector" is. There are a lot of connectors. Thanks in advanced.

It's the thing in diagrams that connects back to the pc. It's in white on the pic on this page.

LPT port/cable is the parallel port/cable aka printer port/cable.

LPT (shorthand for Line Print Terminal) is the original name of the parallel port.

Okay so I walk into radioshack and I ask them for "the printer cable" or "The white thing in the diagram right? lol. All I see is a female SCSI faceplate that has no cable behind it in that diagram.
