The system looks just about like how I had imagined and the trailer is surprisingly good for a sudden reveal. Thank goodness there wasn't any VR nonsense tacked one.
Holy crap! The Switch looks amazing and truly is a switch from their previous stuff. They have third party dev support now! Skyrim is going to be on it! A new Mario Kart and Splatoon as well! I am very excited for this. Nintendo is definitely taking steps in the right direction. Soon we will have our dream of a system with most, if not all of the third party AAA games you see on Xbox/PS4/PC and all of the great first party Nintendo stuff! At least, one can hope...
I am also pretty happy with this video and what we have seen. I am not totally sure that we will enjoy multiplayer gaming on a such small screen, but the design of the unit, the name, the "pro-controller" and the cartridges looks great. I am glad that it is not just a tablet. I am also very happy that we will stop with all these nonsense rumors about the name and many other things. Now, lets see what is inside the system. Just hope that the system will allows multiplayer when connected to the TV. Also, on the devkit, there is a port that looks like the connection point of all the wii controllers that were plugged into the wiimote. This probably mean that we will still be able to use the existing controllers. Anyway, ready to see more about this system ! Hope that developpers will be present ! Speak later guys, I SWITCH off my phone
Meh. After what they did with the Wii U, my loyalty is almost nonexistent and I'm liking my Xbox one more.
So... just thought.. the Switch must have a battery in the actual console, and batteries in both joy-cons..
Wondering what kind of battery life we'd be expecting from the console, is all. Especially if the joy-cons recharge off the console itself.
With one of those powerful NVidia GPUs in there I think the controllers aren't the most important thing to worry about
I think he is wondering about how long the battery life will be. EDIT: Nevermind, you guys comment to fast .
Wonder if this means we won't be getting a successor to the 3ds then? At least not another dedicated handheld for probably awhile. Not much point in making another handheld when the newest system is a hybrid. Regardless I think this looks promising. I wonder how powerful it is in comparison to the the PS4 & XB1? This is far more innovative and portable, even if not as powerful. If they can launch even with just the games shown in the trailer it would be an impressive lineup of launch games. I don't wanna spend the money, but I know I will.
NO. Seriously? Nintendo having an audience willing to pay them money, who'd have thunk! I for one will probably not be buying the exact hardware they announced today because I do not care at all for huge-ass "on the go" devices; but if (or should I say: when?) they eventually announce the "2DS-equivalent"/"economy edition", ie a screenless, "normal" console, I'm in. In b4 "just buy the portable one and use it like a console" - the display, which I wouldn't be using, probably makes up a decent chunk of the price.
Just wait until someone sells one with a broken screen on ebay. I think they totally nailed it. That will save them from the looming threat of mobile gaming, while appealing to the more "hardcore", or adult, gamers with good graphics and 3rd party titles, especially if there's a GPU in the base. The use of carts means no more waiting 3 hours to install the game on the HDD and running out of space. Kudos Nintendo! From this article:
Gotta admit I like the idea a lot. Tempted to get one at launch but curious how 3rd party support is going to be first two years.
