wow, I very very nearly did that exact thing to my Master System but went with the cut out Sega logo. Ive still got the templete i made for this. looks cool
What did you use to cut the casing as I have a Dremel kit, but other modders have suggested that I'll end up damaging it as the plastic reacts badly to power tools lol.
Cases are cheap to buy off eBay. Buy one and play with it. I seriously thing that's one of the nicest 360s I've seen.
Good to get advice from those who have attempted it though. Cases might be cheap, but once you add P&P etc you don't want to ruin $30 worth of plastic. Would rather establish what DOES work from someone who's clearly got experience dealing with the particular case in question.
I used a bosch GST 2000 jigsaw lol (seriously I did) I put a fine metal cut blade in it, and ran it at a very low speed with the pendulum turned off. I use the same jigsaw daily at work, so I know how to handle it, and what I can get away with. Even so, I still cut well within the cut line, and finished it off with some boulder grade sand paper. Thats NOT the way I would recomend though. It would be so easy to melt or snap the case that way. I tried a Dremel on a previous 360 case and it didn't turn out that great (my Dremel was a cheap imitation though) The best and safest way would probably be to cut it by hand with a hacksaw blade. You could even stich drill it with a tiny drill bit first to make it even easier, and finish it off with sand paper. @ Rupert. It was seeing your awesome Master System on here that inspired me to do somthing in the blue and white theme
I think I've seen your worklog on this. While I personally wouldn't mod an Xbox like this, it looks really professional and I know it took you a long time and some clever controller port placement. Fantastic work.
Thanks for the feedback on that, its always appreciated Yeah everyone thats seen it thinks it looks like its been made in a factory, the over-all finish is good and i'm happy with it. I'm guessing if you saw the worklog it would have been over at xbox-scene? in such case you may have seen some of my other worklogs at various times when i can be bothered to post them. Fitting the controller ports as they are was abit tricky, took some thinking about and alot of modifications to get them to fit perfectly. Thanks again.
Really digging all of these mods. Especially the purple Xbox and that handheld N64, good stuff, keep it up!
I did see it on Xbox-scene, but I'm not a member. To be honest I only looked at the mods and not who made them, but I probably have seen another of yours. I'd like to see more, though. I'm in the process of trying to get a heatsink for this 1.0 Xbox I have; either that or another 1.1 Xbox. There's an Xecuter 3 sitting in my drawer, and I just got a good deal on an X3LCD. I just don't want to put it into a noisy Xbox. There's also some vinyl dye that's on my dresser, waiting to be used on something. I'm still not sure if I'm going to use it on the Xbox, though. I painted a white Xbox and while I like it, I don't think I want one. How did you connect your USB ports? Can you plug both a USB device and Xbox controller in at the same time? Edit: I forgot to mention; if you wanted to see mine it's on the third page of this thread. /shameless plug
