Absolutely. And i agree completely to your point, if you're buying factory sealed games at retail price,hoping that they'll go up in value,that is a horrible investment. I personally have factory sealed games, but i rarely bought them at retail price..i bought them later, after playing them...once played and finished, i decide to buy a factory sealed copy,and resell mine..when the game is going for low prices,generally 1-2 years after release, when ppl say "naah,it's old,it's $20"..that's the perfect time to buy factory sealed games,still available from retail stocks, but at low prices because unsold. Of course, this isn't always possible for all titles. And i never bought them for investment,i bought them bacause i love video games. There's plenty of ways to invest more efficiently than video games.

It's just it has been "completed" by other games Why, because somebody wants to "go higher", and get a complete collection at day D, will lose credit for his "well picked" collection he managed to build at day D - XXXX? That sounds stupid. No, reality is the "planet" where i live, where stamp collectors live, where 6 billions people live. You're not in it, if you think stamp collectors are not part of reality. Can someone please look back through my posts and tell me where I said you guys who bought entire collections were somehow wrong, crazy, or generally bad people? Here, I'll save you some time: I have quite a few games in my collection that aren't that great. I know that collecting isn't just about playing games (although you must admit, at the root, we like video games b/c they are played). I just don't see what warrants buying/collecting something (well... a LOT of somethings as it were) just b/c it appeared on a specific system. Unless you can buy all games, you are effectively preventing yourself from buying good games. I realize some people would rather have an entire collection. I was just stating that I think it's a bit silly. This is not a crazy argument... it has popped up many times before on other forums. Certain people, as usual, just want to get all huffy and start demeaning people. Seems I can't be right when I'm talking to you.

Adol, I think GaijinPunch is saying he doesn't quite see the reasons for collecting all the games but he is not saying it is bad or wrong. He is just saying he never understood the whole collections thing. It's only a different view of collecting stuff, he hasn't got anything against it. A smaller collection can seem more focust than a bigger one, but if the same heart and care went into them, then they are no different in the end. That's what I believe anyway. I think that's what Adol is trying to saying as well.
Not really. He told it's a bit silly, and too that kind of collectors (i mentionned stamps collectors, i could have said coins collectors) is on a planet of their own. Referring to your old YJ account. You made an over-the-top (but now deleted) comment in the YJ thread. I suggested that perhaps you were told "gems shouldn't leave Japan" due to your old reputation (-175 or something), which you confirmed you had. I never said anything bad or false. If I did, it stemmed from me simply pointing out the probably. I simply linked the 2ch thread to show that perhaps you got the cold shoulder on that stuff b/c of the way you held/hold yourself.
