It was also entitled PC Cocoron. Plain old Cocoron is a Famicom game I've never seen. :)

wheela, if you like challenge, go for the famicom, you'll find true pain in the ass for sure.

A lot of very limited, strange, obscure, hard to find and overall, damaged cardboard ubber rare games you'll find.

To get a special hot scramble mint or gold dbz or kinniku man is the true way of the warrior. Near impossible.

That's second to none :)

Add Rockman 4 Gold cart, Kiinikuman special carts, taylor made,etc...in addition of a 1250 titles complete collection

I'm near finishing the complete Famicom Disk System collection,"only" 200 games, but with 100000 yens worth ones like Write only Clu Clu Land, 50000 ones like All Night Nippon Super Mario Bros, both versions of I am a Teacher,etc...
and it's a pain in the ass to find all of them complete with matching case
(barcode sticker),instructions, matching sticker...

But there is worse: Gameboy collection!
Try to find all JPN GB games complete in box now...

Gameboy is a path of the warrior too, but there is not as many 1st class rare games I think, only the limited from tv animation Slam dunk and 2 or 3 more. The Famicom was a crazy fashionable item in Japan in its time, and a lot of companies made strange games/cartridges/gyzmos for it.

Both are really really challenging. Now that MD is done, I'm going for Famicom... Lol, you are doing GB Adol? It would be nice!

Hehe, FC and GB are devils for sure! (Fortunately complete MD is the only full set I'm really after as it was the console I loved the most when I was younger.) That said many of the rare stuff is on yahoo quite a bit, certainly the FC games. I could certainly get a mint Hot Scramble no problem! Mint Archimendes (Noodle Gradius) seems harder to find even though there were more made (I think).

But Marty is my current addiction. Just finding some of the games is very hard indeed..let alone finding them mint! And as for some of the hardware...boxed TC Station and Denny's Marty are super rare!

Mundocombo : I think PCE have more very rares games that Famicom. You can often on Yahoo Auctions some very rares Famicom games. Try to find all rarities PCE is more difficult because you never see them anywhere.

I think the better idea is to hunt down rare but also GOOD games. No sense trying to track down gold-plated shite like Kinnikuman.

Right now I'm on the lookout for a couple great rare-ish GB games, a boxed Trip World, and Chikyuu Kaihougun ZAS, neither of which pops up with much regularity on Yahoo Japan.

Well different different strokes for different folks. Personally I'd love a sealed Aki in my collection, despite it being undoubted garbage.

I am with Thibaut though on the availability of pce rarities..some you just simply don't ever see for sale...but I've certainly seen most/all FC rarities (that I know of) for sale at some point.

I'm with you. I've never understood that "whole collections" thing. Seems to be missing the point that games are meant to be played. I can't think of one system whose entire library has over 20% of really good games.... even that's very liberal.

Dragon Ball Z Gold (90)
Dragon Ball Z II Sayajin Freezer!! 91 Jump (100) Victory Festival Memorial Version (100)
Z Gundam Hot Scramble (1000, i know where to buy 2 of those, but not mint 150.000y)

Binary Land Gold (unknown)
Slam dunk Gold Cart (unknow)

Exed Exes Royal Members Sticker (10)
Exed Exes Gold Members Sticker (500)

Plus a lot more not really rare but expensive, like Recca Ken, Gold Punch Out, blablabla...

As you can see, many games with only 8 copies worldwide, sorry but this system is THE KING in collectible difficulty, at least in my opinion, I'm pretty sure nobody got a copy of all those.

Your turn :)

Keep cool Mundocombo ;-)
All the Famicom games you have listed are on Yahoo Auctions and Akibahara. With money, time and patience you can find all of them.
BUT try to find on PCE :
PCE Hibino
PowerConsole
Hu7CD
Active Life Network
HCDS Hudson School 92-93-94
HuCARD Sample Hudson Soft
PC Cocoron
Dino Force
Cosmic Yakyuuken Kanzenban
Tanjou Gekitouhen
Marble Madness
Kid's Station
.....

Even with a lot of money, time and patience I can't find them.

Ein?

kinnikuman gold and rockmand 4 gold in yahoo? really? Or akihabara?complete and mint?
Tell me where please, private msg better, I'll give you a comission ok? :)

I'm not really into PCE, so I cannot be so sure about, but the fact of cardboard and antiquity and 8 games worldwide make me think you are wrong.

powerconsole is not a game isn't it? I was talking only about games, not hardware.

BTW is nice to learn from someone who knows a system like PCE.

Yeah..but some of those are protos! Might as well throw SGX Strider into the mix lol. That said I have seen all of the FC games Mundo lists for sale.

At GP..well games aren't just about playing though are they. I mean books are for reading but noone in the world (save million/billionaires) would read through a 1st print Principia would they. (100k sterling to you and me..my Oxford college had a copy..under lock and key of course!) Or antiques say. A plate is surely for eating on...but how many people dine on Charlotte Rhead? (we certainly don't at home..despite having 100s of perfect originals)

Oh, and SGX and NGPC :)

I haven't seen all of them. ;_;

But wish I could see them. ^_^ Have you seen the Uranoid II and Godzilla Extra Playing Version "Godzilla; EP" for sale? I haven't seen the Dragon Ball Z: Kyoushuu! Saiyajin and Binary Land gold cartridges for sale too but have seen a picture of them though.

I think the hardest for me is The Hyrule Fantasy: Zelda no Densetsu Charumera Version. It is like the SF Memory Cassette Present for Super Famicom in that you cannot tell which one is which because the normal one and special one looks just like each other.

There is lots of special games for Gameboy and Gameboy Advance too, some are really rare.

"kinnikuman gold and rockmand 4 gold in yahoo? really? Or akihabara?complete and mint?"

Yes. I have even see two Rockman 4 Gold, one on Yahoo about 2 years ago, and one at the Super Potato.

"Tell me where please, private msg better, I'll give you a comission ok? :)"

if you want I can take them in Akibahara or Yahoo Auctions when I see them, give me your wanted list by PM if you want.

"I'm not really into PCE, so I cannot be so sure about,"

If you don't know very well PCE rarities why do you claim that Famicom have the most rarities games ??

"but the fact of cardboard and antiquity and 8 games worldwide make me think you are wrong."

I am wrong ? Thanks !
Do you know how many copies exist of the HuCARD Sample, PCE Hibino,... ?
And personally I think there are more PCE rarities collectors who search very rarities games that Famicom collectors. Rockman 4 Gold have only 8 copies but I have see it two times. Cosmic Yakyuuken Kanzenban have 30 copies but I never see one copie and any picture. I think ALN have about 50 copies but I never see one copie on Yahoo and Akibahara since 8 years. Nintendo Gold Championship have only 26 copies, but I have see several on Ebay since 3-4 years,....

"powerconsole is not a game isn't it? I was talking only about games, not hardware."

Ok sorry.

"BTW is nice to learn from someone who knows a system like PCE."

Thanks, nice to meet an other rarities collector ;-)

I think last year when I visited Akihabara the Potato's gold rockman was not mint, neither complete, but I'm not 100% sure, they had Sfamicom gold cartmaybe I confuse them.

I really don't care if they pop up in Yahoo or not, 8 copies are always more rare than 30, plus the cardboard box degrades very easily, so find complete copies in good condition is, in my opinion, harder than a good condition Hu-card.

If tomorrow a Cosmic Yakyuuken Kanzenban appears in yahoo will that mean is not so rare then?

Yes you right, I don't know very well PCE rarities and I claim that Famicom have the most rarities games, but that's just my opinion. I like to have a good chat with other collectors, so I learn from them like a leech :)

Maybe you are right with the quantity of collectors searching PCE and Famicom, seems PCE is very popular in this forums; in Spain, where I live, is one of the most unknown and oversight systems... Spain is different :)

Ah, and the big letters in my list of famicom games was because i was doing copy/paste, no screaming.

Salut!

Indeed not. I don't replay loads of my games. Still... I don't have to have everything just b/c I have particular fondness of a system. I love my Saturn, but there's no way I would buy all the games. The DC, even fewer games, but a worse ratio of playable ones (that's considering most of their 2D games are not really good ports compared to even MAME).

I know a shop that has the Gold Rockman for a hefty price. If you want it you'll be looking at least 50% in commission charges from me. It's unboxed but the way. Price? No idea because I don't buy Famicom stuff so I never paid much attention. It will be a pretty penny mind you because the same shop has an unsealed Sapphire on the PC Engine for 60'000 yen !!:noooo:

Well, GB hasn't a lot of 1st class games yes, but there are THOUSANDS of them. And getting all of them complete in box is a challenge :)

I'm not going for complete GB collection at all, no, i'm not interested in it at all.

MD is done? You got all games by now? Whatabout MCD/32X that go along with?
Good luck!
