Don't forget the (essentially) unreleased stuff like the Tsushin Booster and others. I would have loved to have gotten my hands on that one. I just didn't want to spend upwards of $500 to do it.
Nice one I have seen that site before I think, but work filters won't allow me to confirm this (Damn you and your site category GP!) Tsushin Booster. I want that too, badly. I think I'd happily spend the cash if I had it, but I'm yet to see it for sale so its pretty academic really. I wish there was a pce revival. What with all the rereleases of fc, md stuff these days it would be nice to see a few pce packs for the current gen..perhaps with new old style pce pads too, like the neo stuff for ps2. Sure it'll never happen for various reasons..but just imagine how mind boggling it would be to be able to play 'The Complete PCE Shooter Collection' on your GC or XB (without HD emus). (I say all this in the belief that there isn't one..but if there is disregard this para as I am a fool). Final Soldier, R-Type, Sapphire, all on one disc. Awesome.
Theres been re-makes of Bonks Adventure, Super star soldier (i think, could be a different one from the series), Adventure island and Lode Runner...Possibly others on PS2 and GC in japan. But proper PC Engine remakes would be nice, although since it wasn't big in the US, and not really released in europe, its unlikely to ever leave japan if made
That's what I meant. Stuff similar to say the sonic collections, midway etc, the proper original monty nicely repackaged, with perhaps a history of pce book of something. And hell, if they were japanese only I wouldn't care. My pce stuff is all japanese as it is, so that certainly wouldn't stop me. Goes off to write letter to Nintendo, Sony etc
Sorry about that. Nothing I can do really. Here's PC-Engine Paradise link. http://www.geocities.co.jp/HeartLand-Suzuran/9038/
Very cool. I saw an old PC-Engine modem on there one time ages ago... 2 years probably. Forgot what it finished at. Like the Tsuushin booster, was a dead piece of harder. And this was really dead since it never had a network to connect to in the first place.
Mixed reviews. YOu could probably find a less-legal solution to try it out if you looked hard enough.
I'd kill for a copy of Sapphire, being that it's a Galaxy Fraulein Yuna Gaiden sort of thing. And, well, Galaxy Fraulein rocks, in a cutesy shoujo-mecha kind of way. I've seen some screenshots of Sapphire and it looks quite nice for a PCE game, but don't expect Dreamcast visuals from it. I still want it soooo bad.
Sorry to dredge up an old topic, but I figured this was a better place to talk about the Tsushin Booster than the Yahoo Japan links topic. Well, I've put up an information page about the Tsushin Booster on my website. Please check it out and let me know what you think! http://www.disgruntleddesigner.com/chrisc/TsushinBooster/index.html
F***ing sweet! Nice one, that's a very interesting few pages you've made, thanks a lot! Must have been a mini heart scare moment when you first powered it up and got the garbled graphics.
Congrats with the Tsushin Booster! I am happy that you got one. The chance another buyer would have made a page as informative as this is pretty slim. Excellent work. Thanks for sharing ccovell! CF
It is kind of amusing to see a post from 2 years back, look at what it says, and then see the Wii with PCE games available for download. Sure, it's not Sapphire, but it's a start! -hl718
Hi, folks. Just for fun, I decided to make a short list of some announced but unreleased PCE games circa 1990/91. Take a look here: http://www.disgruntleddesigner.com/chrisc/unreleased_pce.html for the "elite" readers among you, check off how many of these games you have in your collection. ;-D
Nice list: A couple of notes. Dragon Breed was going to be an SGX title I'm pretty sure. Also no mention of Angeles 2: Holy Nights & Silky Lip: protos of which inadvertently got semi-released on the interweb. Here is a list I compiled off of other Japanese lists. Your list also seems to be missing Missile Fighter
Okay, but I did write that my list only covers games announced in 1990-1991. A couple corrections: Meikyuutou is a mistranslation. The correct name is MeikyuuJima. Also, Cocoron would have been released by Sur de Wave (not Should Wave).
