Sony and Amazon UK have it advertised at a rather healthy £249.99, which is still £70 more than the current £/$ exchange rate.
A few things I recently caught, and hadn't heard yet: Bravia® Sync™ Feature The new PS3 system is also equipped with the Bravia® Sync™ feature. By connecting the new PS3 system and a Bravia TV with the HDMI cable, users are able to directly operate the XMB on PS3 using the TV remote control. Other functions include System Standby that will automatically turn off the PS3 system when the Bravia TV is turned off. Vertical Stand for new PS3 (CECH-2000) By utilising the separately sold Vertical Stand, users will be able to set the new PS3 in vertical position, making it easier to place the PS3 system anywhere at home. ----- In addition to the 250GB Slim, two different Slim TEST debugging dev units were also uncovered at the FCC: DECH-2000A - 150GB HDD with "TEST" markings DECH-2000AS - used for trade shows, with no "TEST" markings
dude, even my tv boy(atari 2600 clone) looks better why couldnt they made it into a toploader? or something like the x360s disc tray?
I think overall it looks ugly with my main gripe being that plastic texture they used which looks kinda like that used on the PS2 slim although that wasn't too bad. If i were to buy one i think i'd definatly go for the Phat version because even though its quite big an not the best looking console i much prefer its looks over this.
I'm with the "It'S still F*cking Ugly " group. Yeah it's cheap but yuck! What an awful looking console. Still, people buyt hese thing sto play on, not to look at, right?
as far as I know, you can't install Linux or any other OS on the PS3slim anymore soruce: http://www.consol.at/News.10+M544d23c12c3.0.html
Oh, didn't realise that you guys in the US don't have your tax included in the advertised price. So how much tax will you be paying on $299, and does it differ from state to state? I always assumed that the PS3 did the whole Bravia syncing business anyway, but I'm not rich enough to afford a Sony telly to test.
Cheap looking yes, but way better construction quality. Xbox360 has a 56% failure rate. Exactly. I never liked the original fat model anyway. Everytime i saw it, it looked like a "gangsta" car. Big, shiny and ugly. Plus i hated that "PlayStation3" logo with the Spiderman font. I think the slim has a normal electronic device look. The fat one wanted to be a art piece (which it isn't). Anyway, i'll buy it to play the games. Of course if it looked great it would be a plus. But having finally a decent price, i won't complain about that.
Yeah, it varies. It's usually about 10%, as a lot of places have state and county taxes. Still more in the UK, but not quite as bad as it looks initially.
Am I the only one who liked the old design PS3? :love:The limited editions look good if nothing else! As for the slim, it makes the 360 look a little bit dated now. I wonder what Micro$oft will come up with. If anything they should make the 360 bigger to give it some extra ventilation. The thing kicks out more heat than a hair-dryer
PS3 Slim looks very nice... As a Dreamcast stand. Taken from here: http://www.ukresistance.co.uk/2009/08/ps3-slims-secret-function/
