Hey Yakumo, how good is Puyo Puyo Sun for Saturn? I just ordered it for the ST-V so :p The small review on your site told a little, but how does it compare to the other games? Thanks.

I think it's the best of the series to be honest ! The STV version is going to be missing many modes of playt hough I think since it's just for the arcade.

I have it too (for the ST-V) but to be honest I never gave it a spin... it was 125 yen

Anyway, I coincidentally biked past the dumpster, and after borrowing a car I now have a damn big second TV (that does PAL60 over composite, yay!), a standalone CD player and a Sony 5-CD changer... all free :icon_bigg

It does? Did you buy something from me with a sticker like that on it? It may have been a Hard Off price sticker since I hardly ever visit this book store unless I'm really bored

Picked up a bunch of various goodies...

Black Nintendo DS from Japan (such an awesome system)
Got Nintendogs and some Dragonball Z game for Christmas for it, then picked up Sonic Rush.
PN 03 (I can't figure out why this game got such bad reviews, it really isn't that bad, although it is stupid they changed it from what it originally was) MGS2 for Xbox, Fatal Frame 2 for Xbox (for 9 bucks too) Ridge Racer 5

Looks like I've got plenty of crap to play till I have to go back to work!

a few nice goodies today. Boxed Mega Drive 2 for use on the monitor via that RGB box I bought the other day.

Here it is running on the monitor. Looks really nice and sharp! Even looks great on the TV via S-Video.

And a mint never used before (or so the shop staff said) copy of El Viento for the Mega Drive which cost 4000 yen which isn't bad considering it was 7200 yen last month ! Also a copy of Sonic Council which is very hard to track down in this part of Japan. Even on Yahoo auctions it always goes for too much. This one isn't mint but still in great shape. Only the instructions looking a bit used make it un-minty (is that actually a word?)

It's a great week for shopping this week. Yesterday I plugged in the N64 that Importaku gave me a year or so back and what happened? BOOM!! Died as soon as the power was switched on. :( So today I found a really good deal. Good as New N64 for only 300 odd yen !! Had to buy the pad, PSU and AV cables all separate though but still all together only cost around 2100 yen ! Believe it or not but the cables were the most expensive at 1050yen !! It's bloody impossible to find N64/SFC/GameCube AV leads which is crazy since all systems use the same type yet there are F*cking 100's of PSX AV cables. Just goes to show that people must buy more than one system because they keep breaking which leads to having extra cables that you don't need. Anyway, also got Yuke Yuke Troublemakers and Hybrid Heaven for it. Also today got 2 Dreamcast Memory card pouches, 3 Mega Drive games all minty and Terracresta 3D which was the most expensive thing I bought today which isn't surprising since it's a shooter on the Saturn. I've never seen this game in original form before in my 8 years of living in Japan so it must be rare!

By the way, look what was in the N64 !! A nice Hi-resolution pack !! Can't say I'm impressed with the high resolution of Hybrid Heaven though. Looks bloody awful !

Yep ! that's right. i know sweet FA about the N64 so I was opening up all the exp ports to make sure they all had the jumper pack (I was trying to find the best condition unit with the cheapest price) then noticed this one unit that looked really nice but had a red jumper pack. I asked the staff what it was and they said it was the high resolution pack. Lucky find I guess. Some of the units had no jumper packs but cost 500 yen !?! God know s how that place works out there pricing !

Hybrid heaven won't look any better with with the expansion pack - its like the saturns 1 and 4mbit carts - games had to be specifically programmed to take advantage of them.

But it comes up with a Hi-resolution pack message when the game boots up plus has high resolution normal screen and wide screen options. If it's not compatable with the high resolution pack then why bother with the logo and the options? If it was justfor the sake of it I don't see the point since it looks like shit in high resolution.

nice find yakumo, thats a sweet deal you got on the 64, the expansion pack is just 4mb of ram, if you dont know, some of the games that use it are, perfect dark(needs it to play most of it), donkey kong 64(needs it to run), majoras mask(also needs it to run), rouge sqaudren(greatly improves graphics), turok2(improves graphics),extreme g 2, thats some of the games. I was reading in an old egm review that hybrid heaven was one of the games that didnt really utilize it well at all. But be lucky you got it that cheap with it, here in the us it easily goes for 20 . btw forgot to post got a boxed jpn vers of kirby 64 the other day, an awsome late 64 release.

Sorry, I didn't think the game used it. My mistake. Either way its not the best way to show off the N64. Importantly, does this mean we might see some N64 loving on retro core in the future?
