    PC-FXGA DOS/V

    Hello,

Thanks to "Magic" Yakumo, I am now the owner of a NEC PC-FXGA DOS/V.

For those who wondering "what the hell is that thing?"

The PC-FXGA is a development kit for the NEC PC-FX, it contains the full console on the board PLUS a 3D chip the Huc6273 enabling the FX to display 3D graphics. There was a few 3D games released for that board plus quite a few demos showing the 3D capabilities of the beast. There are 2 versions of the card one for the Japanese NEC PC-9800 series and this one for IBM/AT PC.

Below are some picture of the board and screenshots. I will post more extensive information on that thing later on my blog.

A BIG BIG thank you goes to  Yakumo  for making the acquisition possible, I have been after one of these cards for years and they only pop up once in a while on Yahoo Japan and Ebay, now I have a complete set of programming tools for the PC-FX. Thanks mate .

The box, board and accessories, note that board is even longer than the DTL H2000s for the playstation (if you remove the metal board stabilisers of course)

Inside the dev box, big specs (P2 233, 64 Meg ram,...)

The GA Bios different from the stock PC-FX...

Presentation screen of SAME GAME FX provided with the board. Kind of reflexion game in 3D quite addictive actually.

    More screenies later...

Recently got a new 19 widescreen monitor, wasn't sure if it should go in the good deals section but it'll be fine here; after 12% off and 135 bucks in reward zone dollars I got it for a grand total of $24.56 at best buy, not too shabby i might say.

its the one on the left :p
