wrote this over at DCH last night

it's now 12:40 am and I've just managed to get my first go on it and of course it was through VGA Tate and Yoko modes are there as well as different extended play values but no sound test Probably because they've just started to flog off the OST over at Sega Direct. There's a little add in the instructions for it as well.

Now that I've had the chance to play it at home I can say that all those who wouldn't buy it because it didn't "look" hard core are idiots ! It's a fine shooter that poops on Chaos Field from a great height. The scoring system is very interesting. You have to power up the phone's reception power to get bonus points for killing enemies.

I'll play some more tomorrow but for now it's time to sleep.

    PS: works with the following

    Save = 4 blocks
    VMU
    VMU x 4
    Standard Controller (of course)
    Arcade stick
Buru Buru Pack (no idea what the English name for this is but it's the vib' pack)
    VGA Box

The phone reception system sounds like a neat little gimmick, be interesting to see how well it works in the scope of the game. Thanks for the writeup...I'm looking forward to digging out my arcade stick and putting it to good use.

    Okami TGS2005 demo disc.
Damn this game is by far going to be the best ps2 game of 2006 and maybe one of the best games for 2006 period.

Silverbolt - that demo is all very well and good, but the new demo given out with the Famitsu capcom Vol 2 magazine is even better. (if you can imagine! - maybe you already have it?)

When I first played that TGS demo I thought it was the coolest game I had played for ages. But imagine it with zero slowdown! That is the famitsu demo. Plus you get a proper zelda-esque dungeon to play with on the newer demo. Also the battle engine feels more precise, and the lack of slowdown makes the fights all the more compelling.

Yeah, it looks like THE game of 2006 to me as well.

Heh i wish i could get my hands on that capcom special, but my funds are rather limited at the moment. This demo blew my mind already so i'm sure new one is even better.

Looks like a casual seller that probably doesn't know what he has and thinks it's worthless since it "cannot" play retail games. Then again, you could end up with a box of rocks and a nice picture of a debug kit.

I'd say to make sure that you file a complaint with eBay ASAP. :)

I'd say threaten a lawsuit and see if you can scare him. Judging from some of his other auctions, the pictures show the same white cloth backdrop. You know what happened, someone saw the cheap BIN price and offered him more money for it.

Grr... i have to wait 10 days before i file a complaint... in which time they're more than free to screw with my feedback...

Also, notice the weird way the seller uses capital letters? Just thought that was odd...

You know, i hate it when people hack into my ebay account just to post auctions for random devkits and then have the nerve to send the money to my own paypal account.... :typin:

I almost hate to admit it, but i just bought 15 N-Gage games... in my defense, they were only $3 each... Unfortunately i grabbed red faction instead of elder scrolls... I already have a proto for red faction, it sucks. Even for an alpha.

Made in Wario GC - can't believe it has taken me this long to grab this,
F-Zero GX - ditto, I have missed so much GC quality - but all is cheap now and the games have not aged at all so I think I win on price in the end.

Sega Ages 2500 Sega memorial collection. Bunch of 80s sega games, well worth the cheap price as you actually get the proper originals if you don't want to play the "updated" versions. Nice selection, good gaming all round.

    Drum roll please...

    Oh yes,

Tickets to Japan for this summer for over a month. I may be broke, but I'm going! I even get a (large) amount of money from my university as it is for "study purposes". For the record games are considered a valid learning tool in my tutors eyes, his advice for my exam revision was to play lots of rpgs with complicated dialogue. Being a student is not so bad if you can use the system to your advantage, there is a lot of grants to be had, for not much work. Now I'm going for an academic scholarship to cover the other costs of the trip.
