I saw the Playstation sign, I saw SLPH and what I think is 00052, then I read "Lexmark colour jetprinter", plus the "Compact Disc" sign on it and had NO idea what I was looking at. I assumed the Compact Disc refers to the drivers (installation) discs, but you say it's floppy discs? I had NO idea there was a printer that attached to any PS equipment?

Really looking forward to you opening the box... it's like 6am here and I am gutted that you never opened up the box already lol :eek:h:

Just spotted you have this Limey! Nice! We all know who to look to now in those Die Hard or Spiderman moments when the train is going out of control.

"Stand back everyone, I have 3hrs worth of train sim experience" <gasp! our hero!>

That is one mighty fecking controller! Is it as robust as it looks or flimbsy plastic and light weight? Please tell me that is a coffee cup holder in the middle lol

 Given that those train sims are played in real time, I can tell you it's a hell of a lot more than 3 hours! Keeps me off the streets...
Well, it weighs 2.5Kg & is partly of metal construction, so yeah - it's built pretty well. I paid nearly as much to ship it from JP, as it cost to buy...

And the coffee holder? It's for your super punctual Japanese train driver to place his pocket watch...

Yes, they sell those, too.
I was also wondering about the floppy discs. I'm assuming they're for some kind of PC use, as I've never seen a PS floppy drive. It's (allegedly) a word processing package for the PS1, BTW. I believe it even lets you print screenshots, but I'm waiting for UJ to confirm.

Err, me too! Well, except for the 6am part. ;-)

I had one of those Koei Wordpro packs for the Saturn. The PSX one is basically the same thing. The driver discs are for the PC, not the console. Pretty usless to be honest but a great item to own. The Saturn box is yellow and black were as the PSX one is green.

Never seen one before, never even knew they existed! I would imagine it's hardly a very useful item, i.e. your not really going to want to print anything from it, but what a superb curio!

Presumably it plugs into the expansion port on the early PSx units? I never thought anyone (other than hackers) designed any add-ons. Again, can I assume this was purely for the Far Eastern market?

....green? lovely! Matching the grey of the console perfectly lol

Now I REALLY want to see it...wake up UJ!

I did open the box as soon as I got it :)

The compact disc sign is for the ps1 disc, wich I haven't opened yet.
I need to get my yaroze (or debug ps1) out of its box to test the hardware...
And I'd like to reflash one of my Xplorer first.

Yakumo, about the Saturn version, is there a way to connect a keyboard?
Cause here I'm clueless...except using the $600+ prototype adapter found on http://www.playstationmuseum.com

Wow! Now that is some attention to detail. So I assume you have to set the time on the watch to a timer on the screen? You've got to arrive on time etc?

    I kinda want a shot now... :love2:

More appropriately I want every member of rail staff in the UK to have a shot of this. Perhaps we could improve their punctuality as they certainly ain't managing it on the real thing.

Ah Good morning UJ. So it's not green it does actually match the PS.

I didn't think you were up and about.

Parris, it connects to the serial port of the ps1, not to the parallel IO found on old models.
I was taking pictures, resizing them to fit in, and spilling a whole corn flakes°tm bowl all over my keyboard at the same time...

There is two version of the ps1 printer box/device, the other box is white and orange, and the connector "thing" appears to lack the video input/output that mine have.

    Good moooooooooorning Scotland!
    Well it's almost 11am here...

Just had a look at the instructions and noticed the lead coming off it to serial i/o.

What are the "shutter" and "memory" ports on the other side?

Did you get any bargains at ASDA? They were selling off all their gaming equipment and older software recently. I never buy anything from them normally as they are always priced too high, but in their sales... sometimes they sell things off for silly prices. You just have to be in there at the right time.

Once bought a pile of PS2 uncased games for £1.50 each, but stupidly (bangs head on desk) I stuck them on eBay and sold them off.
