    Another Katana

Got myself another Katana because, well, I need a working reference to debug my first one. ;-)

Warrior Blade PCB, it's dualscreen so i don't know right now how to do a proper setup (need mirrors i think).

Ly-Colizer, i think that the X-Men arcade game used mirrors as well.

Anyway, the PCB is in amazing condition!

most games from this era have an option to switch between mirror mode or not.

there are several different versions of the xmen cab, the local one we had had regular screens just sitting next to eachother (it was an official cab).

The Taito twin screen games have one monitor facing you and one on it's back and this is reflected in a mirror. If you have 2 arcade monitors then it is quite simple to invert the display by reversing the horizontal and vertical deflection wires. Also some LCD screens have the option to reverse and rotate the picture.

This week I got myself a brand spanking new set of Pioneer "XBOX" Digital surround sound wireless headphones for under 10'000 yen  They'll do normal Dolby Surround, ProLogic II and DTS. Watched Die Hard 3 with them last night and the sound was amazing. Also watched the final Blade Runner cut but that sounded shit due to the age of the movie. Played a few Wii games in ProLogic II that sounded very nice (via analogue). Very pleased with them.

Also got a few more Saturn games to build up that collection. The 2 Ultraman games are pretty hard to find or at least I've found hem hard to come by. The first disc in the series isn't so hard to find mind you.

The Final Cut of Blade Runner should sound fine, granted I have the HD set but my receiver only supports DD and DTS anyway

Nah, there's far too much hissing in it plus you can hear where they have pasted in different tracks. Mind you if I set the DVD player to output PCM rather than RAW audio it does sound better but plays back in ProLogicII. What format is the latest Blade Runner in anyway? All it says is 5.1 on the suit case cover.

Interesting. I wonder how complicated the video board is.

The one i played, a long time ago, had that dual screen. It probably was a very heavy cabinet. The left monitor was on the normal position, while the right one was lay down and with use of mirrors the image projected itself exactly beside the left monitor, making the impression that it was a widescreen monitor. Quite an accomplishment for 1992.

Just picked up that SNES mouse, and got the Mario Paint delivered... well, uhm, "MARIO PAINT"...
See the game cartridge, I feel so fucking raped lol
Anyways, it works and was useful enough to test that the mouse worked correctly. And they were both really cheap so no big deal.

The Darius 2 board doesn't have a dip switch to mirror the reversed image as it was only ever sold in a dedicated cabinet (would figure....)

Be sure to get the mouse pad if you want to complete the set. (link) Unlike most mouse pads, it's plastic rather than foam.

I actually had a hard time finding it here and ended up with buying a copy in Germany for 87 euro´s (after searching in a lot of shops).

a nice selection of Chinese original Mega Drive games came today.

From top left to bottom right we have:
Hercules 2 - Says it's a 64MBIT game however I'm calling bull shit on that. Decent platform action game mind you.

A Bugs Life - More platforming action which is surprisingly good. Loads of sampled speech from the movie as well.

Donkey Kong '99 - A port of Donkey Kong Country from the SFC/SNES. Not bad but bloody annoying the way it's one hit and back to the beginning of the level you go.

Super Bubble Bobble MD - an amazingly good version of Bubble Bobble. Good enough to be an official product! As an extra bonus you can also play as Cryon Shin Chan and Doraemon

Aladdin II - Or more like Alaggihun II as it says on the cartridge  This is a Mega Drive port of the Capcom SFC/SNES Aladdin game. Seems pretty well done however I can't get off the 2nd stage due to a stupidly difficult jump.

Ghost Hunter - A very nice version of Pang for the Mega Drive.
