It was thanks to a member here who is also on the SS:UK website along with myself who was kind enough to sell it to me as they recognised how special the game was to me as silly as it sounds.

I have a solid collection already :) By first I meant the first game I ever owned and played on Sega Saturn back in 1997 when I was 7 years old haha. Thus it has A LOT of sentimental value and nostalgia for me. So much so I even went out of my way to interview Lobotomy Software's lead programmer!

Again I'm just happy to have it as it's genuinely rare in the very definition of the word, not because it's expensive like eBay sellers act with almost every game, even the generic ones.

I love rare variations of common games, especially on the Saturn. Congrats, this version is truly rare indeed!

Just got a barely touched Conker N64 Brady Games guide for $20, thought it was steep then looked into it... Damn that was a decent deal!

Oh, and RBI 95 for 32X for $5, again thought it was steep... amazon seems to disagree so guess I did okay! (I collect 32x games)

Quite a rare and not at all cheap Mega Drive pickup today, Dahna. It's kind of like Golden Axe mixed with Valis. Not the greatest game in the world but still enjoyable.

Nice, how much did that set you back? I've had my copy pretty much since the game came out. It's a pretty nice game.

Picked up a boxed and complete Steel Battalion controller for a pretty good price. I got it out to test it before listing it in my FS thread, and I ended up spending over half an hour just messing around. I also found out that someone managed to get it working with that mech game Hawken.

8200yen, pretty much the original retail price when it was originally released.

What's written on the bottom left one?

Also I got a Capcom Pad Soldier for the SNES (technically SFC, since I don't think it was released stateside) for $5, and a handfull of other games for a fair price. I would have gone to one more place, but a total blizzard kicked up, so I just went home.

I bought an official SS IR Control pad set (Jap) - a couple of months ago for £31 including postage, which I thought was a fair price

    $_57.jpg

The controller works well - however it has to be set to '2' to work, if I set it to '1' nothing.
I have continuity checked everything I can including the switch of course - and the receiver too (though obviously the receiver is working for '2' to work - even tried it in 2 different machines in case it was a port problem) - checked the IR LED's with a video camera etc and all seems fine.
I am wondering if anyone here has the EUR manual for this pad, just in case you need a second pad for both settings on the controller to work - it's not really a big deal unless of course I ever get a second pad (and even then if it is a problem with my pad then I would just have to keep it at '2' and set the new one to '1' and all would be well - so this is more just curiosity)

Just got a free PS3 off craigslist. He says it has YLOD, but I haven't tried turning it on yet.

Snagged a Nintendo Color TV Game in rather nice condition from Yahoo Auctions for a mere 1000 yen:

Also realized that the plastic is the EXACT same color as the Spice Orange GameCube!

The Spice Orange variant is actually a reference to the Color TV Game! Or Nintendo had leftover plastic from the Color TV Game! Either one is mind-blowing!

Nah, no box. I mostly just picked it up since it was cheap, in nice condition and was related to Nintendo's early years. Wasn't even looking for it,I just spotted it in a related auctions link :p Need to track down an AC adapter though.

There was some severe deep scratches on the back though, like "soldering iron melted into it" deep. Used a Dremel to polish them out and it looks pretty unnoticeable now. Oddly enough, I saw photos online of other systems with the same kind of damage, what the hell went on in the 1970s in Japan?!

Hmm, who knows :) good to hear you could clean up the damage though.

I never noticed it has the same color as the spice orange GC. That's pretty cool, Nintendo referencing their pre-Famicom roots like this. Also you reminded me that I still need all the Color TV Games C:
