Sorry, I didn't see that this was already mentioned in the thread.
Anyway, since the screen isn't the same dimensions as the original, it might cause some issues with either housing or screen cover.
The Start and Select button also looks pretty different, do they have silicon pads or silicon "feet"?

 

The 2nd old system I wanted but didn't have when I started collecting ends up being the last system i'll probably be getting for awhile (except a few that freinds are sending me). Been searchng flea markets, retro game stores, craigs list etc for months looking for a good deal and finally snagged this. Just tested it a little and thought the same thing i've heard from most who've gotten one for the first time...the controller isn't as bad as I thought..not great..but not as horrible as it looks.

 

looks like you got a complete setup, never played that AVP game, cybermorph I thought was bad

 

Thanks, I have a Scart cable on the way for it. From what I've read & listened too: AVP, Doom, Wolfenstien and Tempest 2000 are the best games for it. (Been testing AVP mostly, seems pretty fun so far)

I'm looking for Tempest 2000 and a modded dial controller next for it. As for cybermorph? Well, the gameplay seems fun but the graphics do not impress by a long shot, even for the time it was made...just my opinion.

 

nice on getting a scart cable for it, I'm planning on building a rgb scart cable for mine, I only have 5 games for the jaguar (Cybermorph, Hover Strke, I-War, Utra Vortek, Zool 2) none of them are really good games.

 

Nice on building your own Scart! I'm doing it the lazy way...paypal..lol. I'll have to get Ultra Vortek since I want a few fighting games for every system I own. and I've heard Katsumi Ninja is even worse.. Plus, I'll HAVE to get get Gorf Classic if I ever get the CD add on because I was a huge Gorf fanatic in the arcade when it first came out (yes, i'm that old..lol).

P.S. I've heard the Jaquar Rayman version is very good. If you like that sort of thing.

 

Yeah I want to get a jaguar cd also just refuse to spend that much on the system. I have heard that rayman on it was good. I have never played gorf. I spent a lot of time in arcades in the 80s and 90s but never seen it

 

It came out in 1981 and instead of just one game that got harder and harder like space invaders, it was a series of 5 games that got harder. Plus, it taunted you in that 80's digital voice saying "nice try space cadet" or telling you "gorfian robots will attack". That would goad me into really wanting to beat that damn game..well, get a higher ranking I mean. If I remember correctly "space general" was the highest Rank I could get.

at 11 minutes he'll show the actual game, this is true arcade..hopefully the jaguar version is an update or at least perfectly faithful.

 

My Asian copy of Sonic 2 came today. It's interesting that it has the English manual (probably from the US) and the Japanese one too.

 

So, I have a tendency to be extremely lucky with online purchases.

When I bought the GB Micro Famicom Edition, the seller mistakenly sent a loose one with a few games (I had payed for a boxed one), on regular mail from Japan (so it just arrived today). A few days after sending it he realized that, and he sent the boxed one via EMS which arrived shortly.

He said I could keep both, as it was no deal for him to get it back paying 2 shippings + EMS for the other one.



I do feel a bit guilty though

I did finally get a large media storage unit to hold my game cases in (I'll put the games back in the cases), but I just finished unpacking them and realized something.
...The one that holds like 734 CDs isn't big enough for all my cases. Even tossing cases without artwork and stuff in a box, I don't think I'll have enough room for my Xbox and PS2 games.

 

Got two Bandai Wonderswan systems from Japan

I saw that PS TV deal, but it looks like it's sold out.

 

Yeah as soon as I seen the post on slickdeals I bought one, I tried to order another one later and was listed as "unavailable online" did a check of local stores and it said not found in 250 miles near me. So my guess it was bestbuy wanting to clearance them out.

 

Needed a couple of replacement PS3 game cases. Saw a good deal on MercadoLivre and decided to go for it. When they arrived i was actually surprised to find out they're indeed brand new, individually plastic sealed like a retail game.



They're the 2nd version (blu-ray logo on the right), that started being used with the PS3 rebranding but i don't think anyone manufactures the 1st version (blu-ray logo on the left, ps3 spiderman logo on the right). Anyway, one was for Burnout Paradise that i have for a quite some time (case was a little cracked) and the other for GRID, which i bought for a great price last saturday, at my friend Marcos used games store that reopened on a different location.



They look brand new again.

Yeah, same here, too bad, I've been on the fence about one for $30 used at Gamestop ($40 new) but $20 was enough to pull the trigger.

 

same here, I dont have anything for the Vita yet (other then the free games from psn plus), so this will be a nice way to start playing them.

 

Wish I could get a pstv for $20/£12 ...

The only Black Friday game I got was Gran Turismo 6 for $5.
