This was one of my first material possession's that I bought when I first started working fulltime. It is actually a replacement as the original original died after 2 or 3 weeks. I can try taking a look, I currently have 9 ps1's, all working, also 7 or so psones, al working, some without theyre own power(lost or damaged)
Sounds like a fun project, but do we also need to log a mainboard serial? because sometimes mobo's are swapped

Yeah thanks for taking a interest in this with me. :D mainboard, I'm not so good in finding out info about them so I don't know if i'll find which mobo's are on mine. but thanks again. :)
Would be a cool project as there are quite a many people and then we would also see what people have, rare / debugs /custom mods etc.

Nah mobo serials are not needed I think, only the serial number on the back of the pS1 and what type of ps1 it is.

Those are model numbers, not serials. Is there a point to this database? I know there were multiple PCB revisions inside the same model which might be useful for something. I've got 4-5 PS1s floating around here I could get the serials from but only if the time taken was actually productive.

Hmm. I can see these have different letter infront "B" and "C".
    Also, no special point.
    Just curiousity.

    Never seen SCPH-7552 before. Cool.

    Yay.

Might be worth noting manufacture date if this ever could prove useful.

I always thought there was a reason you typically didn't want to share serial numbers with others, or is that just with modern, internet-capable machines?

It is for modern stuff only. I wouldn't worry either way if you are the legal owner of the hardware, the main concerns are hacking (in the break in to your network sense) and someone cloning the system (ie to unban an Xbox 360) both of which require additional info, Dev hardware also has an NDA attached to it that has been violated, there is the ethics issue since presumably they are traceable back to the person who "disclosed" the hardware.

Yeah but only the modern computers you would worry about, random PS1 serials don't mean anything to hackers.
Also, thanks for the Contribution Tokimemofan, I'm kind of jealous of your 1000 & 1001... ugh, my oldest one is a 5502. :( Which sucks. There never came any 1002's to Iceland I think! :(

Now if only you could Decode PS1 VIN's. :(

I got a SCPH-1002 for a few Euro at a flea market once, but it was pretty much dead by that point... CD drive didn't work right anymore (had some physical damage even), there was no video signal from any of the ports, only sound, and it was in really bad shape overall. Best I could get it to do was boot Final Fantasy 6 to IIRC the memory card and file selection, after several minutes of loading. I kept the power supply board and got rid of the rest...

No probs, great to hear.. keep it up ;) and don't throw it away.. when everyone throws their away when it stops working their numbers thin out and they will be EXTREMELY rare if people don't stop throwing them away. :p
