Wow, this is epic... you've got one of the shortest "VIN"'s on a PS1 ive ever seen, as you can see in the list normally they have 7 digits but you have something special. Only 6 digits! :D which means yours is probably number 608.652 :)

was given a custom paint job years ago (piano black) still works as new, just whizzed in a corner due to redundancy...and i'm not digging out the other consoles that are buried, this is the only boxed (complete) ps1 i have. (with vcd/mpeg cards by gamars)
i get the distinct feeling that the housing to this console is mismatched to the motherboard. (even though no signs of improvisation)
what a pisser stripping this down...:( (all you're getting, sorry)
    ...
^^ i believe that's all the relevant info?
please correct me if i'm wrong while i'm staring at a loose pile of parts, before i put it back together and chuck it back in it's corner where it belongs...:(
    [edit]
    typo.

This is not my console (not with me), but I found it earlier at a friend's place, when I was helping them clean. It still works too. They have a PSone as well, so I'll check it out later.

    SCPH-5501: NTSC - U9772625 - 3-976-818-02 - March 1998 - Made In Japan - Manufactured: SKZ Kisarazu Japan (under the certification text)

Over 100 million units sold. You're going to need a bigger spreadsheet.

Not a PS1 (notice the model number indicates a PS2) but it has the same type of serial so I thought of posting it:
