Yeah I got lucky on that one, there was a price tag underneath it that said $10! Tested the console, works fine... and it's chipped
I'll throw my two into the mix two. Model: SCPH-5501 S/N: U6134351 Date July 1997 Model: SCPH-101 S/N U5088137 Date Code 1B Neither is modded that I'm aware of, but I got one from a friend and one at a thrift shop, so I don't know. The PSone did have its warranty sticker intact, before I had to open it up, though.
Model: SCPH-9001, S/N: S9707027, Date: September 1999. This is the only one I have at present. I had a much older model (A 1001 I think) but it died years ago. I do want to find one with the parallel port on it.
Thanks xsp! I just got two PS1's, and got also 2 fat PS2's, swapping for old radios. He got me those and I got him those 2 radios. The PS2's are both non-working and the 2nd has been opened and yeah.. been messed with but I think I have all of it. Now it's lying there, closed but with no buttons and everything messed up on the inside. The PS1's are in rough shape but still, nothing touched on the inside! one has stickers and lots of big scratches and the other one a few scratches but no big ones that can be seen from far away. SCPH-9002 - C7880490 - Very bad on the outside, not sure if works. SCPH-7502 - C6812612 - Not sure if works or not but will check later.
Recently got a psone, will update with the details once i get them i cant reach from here lol SCPH-102 - B1357067 PAL *working* got this as untested warranty sticker was intact, until i opened it, i plan on adding a modchip to play imports, and also it had some random brown substance spilled in it at one stage so cleaned that up.
I still have my PSOne that I got when it was originally out in stores (it's actually my very first game console) and which, apart from a flimsy AC adapter cable (I have to make it face the right way or else it doesn't work, basically), still works like a charm. SCPH-102 - C1933796 PAL Working
I have an idea. Can we also include the place of manufacture for the system (like made in japan, made in china, made in mexico....etc) to make this registry even more complete ? The reason I'm saying so is because I've seen thousands of PS1 at the office over the years but there was one that stuck my eyes last week. The system was in the storage room and the label said it's MADE IN U.S.A at the San Diego plant where Sony Vaio laptops used to be made. I'm not sure if this is common but this is the first time I saw such system.
SCPH-9001 #U9497716 Made in Japan on May 2000 I will ask around and see if any of my friends have a PS1
It's a good idea but every European one I have seems to be from Japan. But I like it, will take some time though. And thanks everyone for your info, I got one today. My first PS1 slim! SCPH-102 - C2960892
As I see you're collecting serials,I'll post mine too: SCPH-5552-C5811441-modchipped,classic 5 wire chip, needs a new cd drive(lens is good, just the new assembly is need)as this one even if it runs games, not all work SCPH-9002-C2242240-modded too, classic 4 wire chip this time, half broken spindle but every game I have work SCPH-9002-B1415364-not modded, disc drive has only the disc keeper intact, rest of the spindle broke out.Games load fine on it too.
*brohoof* Well, got myself another PS1: SCPH-7502-C9095359-modded,Old Crow 5 wire chip(12C509,that's cool ^^)CD drive is pretty good, just 2 missing tabs. Also installed a colour correction mod in this system,as PAL 7002-9002 machines have scrambled colors when they switch to PAL60,or "NTSC mode".The mod is just a wire linked between a trace to pin 157 and a GND point. It doesn't require lifting off pin 157 as other guides say and it's pretty easy if you got a 12-15W soldering iron, but hard to tough if you got a 40W soldering iron like me.Just fired up a russian copy of Abe's Exoddus, and it works like a charm and has the correct colors.I made sure the wire on the board won't ever get off there. Thanks god it didn't land in my scrap boards place. All scrap boards have their DRAM removed, and used in a S3 Trio 64V+ card.(I need upgrade chips for it,and PS1 DRAM fits) EDIT:Seems I was a little wrong about the colour mod - you NEED to lift pin 157,or else the PS1 will try to pull that pin high but it can't,resulting in burning the GPU.
