Dont recall any of us doing that at all, just pointing out some "facts" that they stated the system will have that we dont agree with, no one said the system sucks as a whole... As for logic ofcourse we can they gave us specs, rough specs none the less, but we can compare it to platforms we currently know of.
What Sony is trying to do with the PS4, they'll need way more than a simple 1GB for background tasks. I'm saying it takes maybe 2-4 GBs no problem. It's streaming, GUI, probably chat now, even streaming gameplay while streaming video? I know for a fact streaming video and audio takes a toll on any home console, look at the XBMovie for an example. It's just a big number for you to see, in reality, you're only really get half the GB of RAM. We don't act this way at the launch of everything? Why do you have to compare everything to something else? Look at what the console is itself. I see a system with no many interesting games and not much to do if people can't pay for such an expensive console. There is no way it's going to be only $400, it's going to cost more to produce everything that is suppose to be included in the console, the controller and the controller bar thing. Remember when Sony tried to be the big bad tech guys and show how much more powerful their console is? I see it just like a PS3, all talk but no games. It's becoming a system to put near your Microwave for social networking.
So far no good lol , the Engines are starting to look amazing but it's the same old $ony corp trying to buy Devs. Let's all buy this console to surf the web and look at Facebook lol that's pretty much the concept of this console so far.
Well I just got home and read what I missed while I was out. If the PS4 is gaming's future, then Gaming has no future.
so, is the stream over? is there a video uploaded yet? Can't find a video on youtube without a jackass talking over it.
If it does require online connection. No buy for me. But also: Here are some 4k Screenshots of Killzone Shadow Fall. You can actually see the detail and flaws. It looks Anti-aliased to an extent. But Of course i'm sure these are just typical promo bullshots that are not representative of what you actually see when it runs on the system. Even like this it doesn't look all that different than some current PC games in High resolution with good AA. (Like Crysis 2 + high resolution textures. Or BF3) Still, hard to say if actually promo shots just done at 4k to impress people. Or if the game actually runs at 4k. I'm leaning towards the former(Just because of how certain assets look and model quality. Some stuff when viewing the picture at 1:1 scale barely looks better.).. If it actually runs at 4k internally even at 1080p ,That would be amazing however. https://i.minus.com/iIEhpoDUkT4kL.jpg https://i.minus.com/iwDVBNPquOcoY.jpg https://i.minus.com/ibseqcJL36sDVX.jpg https://i.minus.com/ivNk1ZDclXGq6.jpg https://i.minus.com/ib0N8FBrfvfleK.jpg https://i.minus.com/iBx71Ai3TwPZn.jpg https://i.minus.com/iC6SI317zJm7x.jpg
You're all being very negative about this though, and the only "facts" anyone has pointed out so far is the possibility of resources going to the social aspects of the Firmware, firstly it's 8GBs if Windows doesn't even manage to use that I doubt this can. And all you compared it to is your PC which just displays a lack of knowledge in the difference between PCs and the PS4, for example PCs have an operating system, which deals with RAM allocations, and has it's own background applications which slows down software, like games. And games also can't be tailored for your specific machine because of the millions of variations of PCs out there, that's why you have to spend thousands to get a PC that can play crappy console ports. But the PS4 has comparable specs to a PC but with the pro of not having Windows and is only one system which mean developers can tailor games specifically for it.
I think Capcom's detail is rather current gen, my feed got a bit low res around there, but it didn't look as detailed as the other games. Driveclub looked great though, I'm kinda excited for that one together with Watch Dogs. Don't understand why they didn't show the system, even the developers are not aware of what the system looks like.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXAa5TCrUfM&feature=player_embedded Game is one of the highlights IMO. One of the better looking games. (Despite this feed even being not that great at 1080p and some aliasing issues) The Feed from Sony was TERRIBLE. It was so low res, so low quality with so many macroblocks you could barely make out the detail of anything.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=sXS5zYLsupw#! Here's the KZ video. Much better than the live feed. Some strange render flickering off in the distance and temporal aliasing(game must be using MLAA or some junk) abound! Around 00:25 the textures/normal maps on the character's shirt look awfully low res for "Next gen"
So Sony hyped Feb 20 as if it were the second coming of Christ and then show nothing? Typical Sony. Here's to the next Xbox!
Eh, they showed plenty. At the very least, better than nothing. I'm glad to hear other people experienced problems with the stream in the exact same spots (like the Deep Down trailer), and it wasn't just the internet gods cursing me from above during important parts.
Nice looking tech demos but zero backwards compatability. Instead they want you to rebuy all the games to play them using a cloud service like onlive. Also the 1st gen models break easily at least they did with 360 and ps3.
I honestly think that Sony's got the message now, and they won't screw up the cooling system. In fact, as so not to repeat last gen, I think they'll be putting extra effort into it. That is, unless they actually do screw it over. And if that happens and M$ doesn't Sony will be gone within the year.
