PSIO Supposedly Working

I've personally decided to wait and see - it's not much longer before we'll know for sure one way or the other.Even if initially it has compatibility problems and we have to wait for updates, as long as it's genuine then most people in this thread will be happy.

I'm really hoping it's genuine - every machine should have at least one backup solution, especially disc-based machines.

 

Well, I do hope this thing is REAL too, but until some trusty reviewer doesn't do that (review the "final" version), I'll just dream.

 

It's real, as for whether they will finish it, we'll see. I think they will, and I hope they do, as I will buy one.

 

Well we're getting closer, still waiting on the USB-Blaster cable to arrive.
I'll give ten games a test on the YouTube, one per person, first ten people to respond will get their game tried and tested.
And don't forget, I'm not really a gamer, so it should make for some interesting video! :friendly_wink:

 

Tekken 3 has fmv, has 3d fmv, has 3d modeling fast action. Try it.

What is 3d fmv? You mean realtime applying 3d scene on movie frames?
If yes, I don't think, tekken 3 supports this.
Final Fantasy 7 and 8 are using this technology.

 

Is that a vote for FF7 or FF8? What about FF9? Why does no one like FF9? Or am I thinking FF8?

Do these work without that dance pad thing? You can have one, which one has the best songs?

In FF9 same technology used, I just don't remember how long you need to play to see that effect. However in FF7 you need only several minutes to see it (when Cloud looks on reactor), and in FF8 it's also in beginning, if I recall correctly.
My vote is for FF7. However I'll have my PSIO adapter in few weeks from now I think.

You should try at least game with AudioCD tracks and game with CDXA video. Also good idea is to try all games from Demo1 pack (for instance one with Medievil, Tomb Raider 3, Spyro, Gran Turismo, etc.)

 

I think it was FF9 that some people had a disliking to, but it was one of my favorites. If you're going to test games with FMV and 3D overlays, could you add Legend of Dragoon to the list if you have it?

I'll probably end up doing 10-15 minute videos of the games in action, one video per game to get a real feel for it.

Dance Dance Revolution 5 Is Japanese and it work with the psx controller like a dance mat but easy and cheap xD

 

I vote "MGS: Integral" (NTSC-J with antimodchip code) or if you class that as a dupe of MGS then I suppose a libcrypt game such as "MediEvil 2" (PAL only) would be a good test as well.

 

That's going to be in Japanese isn't it? Should be interesting, I'll do one video of MGS and MGS: Integral then.
I believe libcrypt may have some issues, that said if it does nothing at all at least we'll know where it is up to. It's all prototype / early stages at the moment.

Edit: Does MediEvil 2 need to be PAL? Was the PAL version different to the US release?
