It'll definitely be there. Apparently is supports multiplayer gaming and a simple file push service for pictures and themes etc. They're also saying it will allow for mobile phone tethering. I can't remember the source for this info but it's been on a few sites.
We already have WiFi for multiplayer gaming at much faster speeds. I suppose bluetooth would allow for multiple connections at once, but I can't quite see the point of that as of now.
Long story short... Even with Bluetooth PSP GO! won't GO! far. i have my mobile to send and recieve pics and stuff..
I had thought about the bluetooth headset route. I'm just not sure why you would really need one if the unit just had a built in mic. Hell even a wired headset shouldn't be an issue considering that the unit will be at most about 2 feet from you at any given time. A2DP would be nice and offer wireless headphone support. Provided that you don't care about the quality of your music.
Perhaps you should think about topics a little more before you write something in a thread? Blåtand (Bluetooth) is a great communication system, and for more stuff than to receive pics. A2DP as someone said, wireless headset, maybe they will produce a new GPS device if it's not built-in that can communicate via Bluetooth. There's loads of stuff.
I thought it looked crap until I saw it in video. It looks awesome, IMO, in action and in motion video. Pictures do not do it justice. My only gripe is the cost. I also think people are being too harsh on the PSP. Sony is the only company that has managed to hold its own Vs Nintendo's dominance of the handheld market (rightfully owned by them, I must say) and staged a very good come back in the past year or so. 50million is pretty impressive to me. Compared to the 100million DS units it is not so, but few would have predicted it 2 years ago.
The price is the only thing I really don't like. I guess that and isn't the screen a tiny bit smaller? Otherwise it's perfectly aimed at me. Sony has done a great job when it comes to digital downloads. I think I might hang on to my first gen PSP and be fine.
This will make a lot of you guys happier. Now we just need a second joystick, and I'll swallow the 250 cost with a smile. I'll still keep my Vader PSP for my protos though: E3 2009: Sony Will Offer UMD Solution Existing PSP owners able to play back catalogue on PSP go. by Martin Robinson, IGN UK UK, June 5, 2009 - Sony will be offering existing PSP owners an incentive to upgrade to the PSP go, allowing gamers with an extensive UMD back catalogue to transfer them to the new, UMD-less device. While there are no concrete details on the plan to date, it will likely ape that seen with Portable Copy, wherein Blu ray movies are ripped from the PlayStation 3 and transferred to the PSP. "We're in the midst of putting together a good will program. We'll be unveiling that soon [because] we actually think there's a significant group that will be upgrading from the PSP-1000," said Sony's John Koller in an interview with Gizmodo. "In the past, we've seen a 20-25 per cent trade-up factor, and I assume that's going to be the case here. We've modelled that. So we're looking at a good-will program - a short term good-will program that would continue for years afterward."
I'm still not happy with the price. For €250 I'd expect the GPS and camera to be built in (not that I'd ever use them, but still). Otherwise I'll wait until it's a good £50 cheaper. I want to hold one and make my own judgment regarding the analogue thingy. Considering the device is around the size of an iPhone, it's not exactly a huge distance to reach.
Whaat? €250 for a stripped down PSP? Are Sony completely insane? Even the DSi actually added features instead of removing them and Nintendo didn't hike up the price that much!
Yeah, i cant say ive played a DSi yet. I do know that the DS lite was far too small for my liking ( ive got large hands, excellent for guitar, horrible for small controllers and portables). I prefer the fat DS, ive owned 3 of them but gave up on owning one after 2 got stolen and the last one broke. Im just cursed when it comes to the DS:icon_bigg
Just so you know, I was referring to the GBA, not the DS. I liked the DS at first, but like with the Wii, things got a bit old for me real fast, and I saw myself slowly migrate to other systems that were more to my liking. It amazes me still how old both the DS and PSP are, and yet the price keeps going up. The DS is NOT worth that price tag... I don't care how many 7 year old cell phone cameras they shove in it :110:
I don't remember the PSP having bluetooth or 16GB internal memory before. BTW, this PSP Go is what Shadowlayer talked about a year or more ago. I laughed at him and called him insane. Now he is the one laughing. Sorry bro
Maybe, but 16 GB of internal memory and a Bluetooth chip must be extremely cheap to manufacture compared to the UMD drive assembly, so it would have made sense for the price to drop instead of rise. Certainly those features are not worth €100 (or even $100) however you look at it, and I sincerely believed this would be a cheaper model of the PSP, because that would've been a good way (perhaps the only way) for Sony to stand a chance against the DS. Seriously, how much sense would it have made for Sony to dump the failed UMD and sell a cheaper version of the PSP with digital downloads only? This would have been a win-win situation for just about everyone: companies would no longer have to spend money on producing UMDs/shipping them to stores and even consumers would still be able to use their old PSPs to download games.
A 16GB iPod touch is around $200 from Apple. That obviously has the touch screen and a more powerful processor etc than the older generation models, but the storage is the most expensive cost of the device. This is probably the reason the PSP Go is more expensive.
