I don't get why they didn't try to strike a deal up with Ericsson again and stick a sim slot in it and use the under screen as a numeric keypad. PSP phone would shift a few units I reckon. who cares if it dilutes Sony original vision, the hand held market is a huge free for all these days, any gimmick goes.
Perhaps they will release an external UMD drive to rip games (with a load of DRM of course)? I remember drives were mentioned several times when the PSP was first announced, but I guess they thought it would make UMD end up another Minidisc.
How simple minded of you. No, it means that we buy what works well and provides the most enjoyment. If we only did what "our masters" told us to, we'd be stuck on Windows software still and would probably be fanboys to only one company's line of systems.
If Sony had some kind of registration thing going on for getting downloaded versions of games you already own, I might like to get one of these. Say what you want, but not worrying about CDs shooting out or changing CDs sounds like a cool thing to me. But as a collector I'm going to miss buying the game boxes too. I'm still on the fence though, if its load times suck and there are other problems, I'll just get the 3000.
On a similar note, I m looking for a PSP microphone before I go to Amsterdam on the 10th of june in order to use skype on my PSP2000 - but the guys at Sony Hellas (the Greek branch) had never heard of such a thing and prompted me to buy the useless Go!cam.. 50 bucks (Euro, sorry)? I can use my phone and make international calls with that quota, stupid. (if anyone in europe can ship one fast PM me btw) I hope they haven't removed the built-in mic from the Go! and then I might just get one if the price is right.
It's a little too expensive over here. $249 is currently about £150 which is about acceptable I think. Except we get it for the healthy European price of €249, which is £215 and totally taking the piss.
It is very expensive. Then again, look at it's competitor. I'd sure buy a 250 dollar PSP over a 175 dollar DSi any day. The DS was an ok system, but it's lost it's new factor for me, and the games look obselete. I've since moved onto iPhone games for my touch gaming goodness. And with games like Galaxy on Fire, I get the PSP type full fledged game, but with multitouch control. That and it's always with me. Only one device in my pocket at all times, which helps more than you know.
If you can still do the downloadable games thing through older PSP's then I'm good. It all depends on the prices.
PSP GO! has Bluetooth. Why am I the only one noticing this? What sort of use will it be of? Please say I m not crazy, the logo is clear as day on the top right on the blue LED.
