Yes. You need a friend with a fat PSP first though. Basically you make a magic memory stick and matching battery, start the PSP, press a button and then you can run homebrew.

Back on topic: Doesn't look like anyone on YJ will sell you the "magic Memory card" but I can indeed buy a preloaded PSP for about an extra 4000-5000 yen or so. Comes loaded w/ CFW3.71 M33-2 which I assume is the latest and greatest. I don't really like paying for such an easy mod, but considering I know exactly ZERO people with a PSP (and I don't have a shitload of time to muck with it) I think my choice is made. Also... does the PSP not read 4GB memory sticks? Seems people only sell them w/ 1GB or 2GB as a bonus.
I have a 4GB card in mine, was £24 ($49) on eBay, be warned though, the PSP takes ages to boot up with it in there as it's so big. It seems to be really slow, so you might have trouble streaming video if it's encoded too high.
3.71 M33-2 is the latest and greatest but If I were you I'd downgrade back to 3.52 M33-4, its a little friendlier when it comes to kernal apps.

If its from the same bloke I got mine from its fake - on the PSP does it say magicgate support is supported or unknown? if unknown its likely its a fake, which would also explain the low speeds.
Okay, question: HK batteries. Worth it? I can get a battery alone for about 2000 yen + a bit for shipping. Don't have to fuck w/ paying double for the pack.
