Those systems are PSX (that multimedia thing) in different colors. Anyway, i really don't think Sony will even bother to make a PSTwo. Just imagine their expenses on research and development of the PS3 and PSp (Both still not finished). Add to that the fact that Online games and HDD compatible games will be used a lot from now on. Then you need to make the PS2 hardware smaller. For the PS1 it was a great move, but now i don't think they'll release a compact version of the PS2. Just my opinion though.
I wouldnt mind if they do, heck the PS2's hardware can probably be made much smaller if they want, the system's footprint has hardly changed over the years (maybe the mobo has but not the case). The Network Adapter and especially the HD might cause some trouble though :smt043
I was thinking about that myself. The Network Adapter may not be hard but the HD is another story. Would it not be possible for them to release an external case for it that would plug into the PStwo like they have for PC's? Then again they could just make an external version like the Japanese one...
that's a psx. but on somes video game website they say that sony will release a pstwo 30% smaller than the original one the 26.10.04 ( the ps2 was released the 26.10.2001 in the us) i think that's just a stupid thing that will never see the day. first , we all know that japenes players always get consoles first ( :smt043 ). second , it will be released soon without any pictures of it (well, for now) sony is the compagny to talk about their projects and to release pictures of it way before the releasing date. third , sony is still the number one in the industry and i don't know why a new model 30 per cent smaller would after in a good way their position, they are already first. sony is working hard on their psp and ps3 , i don't know why they would burn mney to make a ''pstwo''. ''remixes'' of home gaming consoles are usualy made after or a near time before the next-gen console release. and , at last, i don't think we will see any other home gaming consoles being remade. now , every concepts of a consoles is well studied before choosing wich will be the best. its not lik in the old times ( a good exemple? the nes. ) . and now consoles are made to be stylish and reconizable at the first look ... they don't really whant 5 versions of a video game console for nothing , they need a good reason to do it, and i don't think they have one right now.
There was a PS2 revision which bundled two chips onto one, and reduced the fan noise. That happened a year or so ago, the casing stayed the same. I wouldn't have thought a PSTwo would be coming out yet, although it's not unthinkable.
In fact, I remember reading in some news that Sony had designed a "PS2-on-a-chip" called "Dragon" or something...

Sony are going to release a smaller version of the ps2, they are doing to to ensure they ps2 will be arround for another 6-7 years and saving costs on production. Rumours have it that the reason GTA:SA has been delayed is so it will be launched on the same day as the new smaller PS2 in the hope that it will boost the initial sales of the system.
Either that or they've realized that the GTA franchise is utter ass and they are delaying it to madly scramble for ideas on how to make it cool again, like by putting Flava Flav as a playable character or something. But I don't think even he could save it.
It's ok not to like the gta games GSL but they are just about the most sold game series there is and SA will propably break all records. Personally i can't wait for the game driving arround as a fat tatoed nigga homie slappin my whores arround poppin the cops or however you say it in slang :smt023 :smt042
I think GTA is utter tripe as well. Bever seen the interest in it, graphically shite, and the gameplay isnt all that its made out to be.
Just because it sells a lot is no indication of the quality of the game at all - the unwashed masses are not nessecarily a barometer of good taste. Besides, I thought Super Mario Bros. 3 had the record for the top selling game of all time - anyone know if this has changed?
hope the game comes bundled in.. if it does i'll buy one, coz i already had 2 ps2s die on me , i also hope they are build correctly like the old good psx "note: is a damn psx! i refuse to call it psone!"
well i agree too, the graphics are horrible, but it does keep you entertain for like a week, after that just like uh...
When you see some parts web site: Xbox (remplacement parts):Fans, CD connector, Plastic case. PS2 (remplacement parts) : Sound chip, Ram chip, fans, plastic case, cdrom reader, cdrom lens, cdrom motor ,cd rom connector, capacitors (various models), resistors (various models), CDdrive chip, D flip flop chips... All in the psx seems to be crap (selling remplacement capacitors is absolutely enormous!!!).
