That part is not polarized (and it operates in AC anyway) so it can be inserted either way.

    No worries, and that's for your help too!

    I'm not done with the thread yet.

    I'm going to cover fixing/replacing the rotary switch (Mines snapped off and stuck on 30 seconds) and also replacing the front metal control panel.

    I have a free bit of time this afternoon so decided to clean the outer casing (Check out the 1st post for how bad it was)

    [IMG]

    I used WD40, Toilet paper and a slightly adhesive pad

    I also ordered some nice looking replacement screws (to replace ALL external screws)

    Ok, so now it's time to start work on the metal control panel

    Image from Bylga on YouTube

    The front control panel is connected to the main unit via 4 screws (2 either side).

    I've been promised some detailed pictures of the front control panel so I can have it reproduced

    Making head way with the front control panel, I've received multiple pictures of it and receiving some more soon.

    I wish I was an expert in auto cad, I'm guessing this is the best application to draw the control panel in so I can send to someone to reconstruct for me?

    Also I've purchased some new rubber feet

    I've also purchased a brand new rotary switch which I'm yet to install

    Control Panel Pictures

    With the below pictures I need to create an AutoCAD drawing of the control panel to have made up by someone who specialises in that sort of thing...

    Excellent news today, I have found a local company who can recreate the control panel and arranging for someone who owns a M82 to come to me so we can get the control panel recreated :D

    I'm still going the AutoCAD route incase the meet falls through as the company can work from an AutoCAD drawing also.

    Are you going to draw the panel flat or bent? If you are drawing it flat you have to account for bending allowance for sheet metal.

    Rotary Switch

    The original Rotary Switch is made by RT-A and is a 9 way switch, however there is stop pin (p/n Y200300200P) inserted into 4th slot of the rotary switch.

    I originally thought the model number was RTAC41S0 for a 4 way switch but now think it's likely to be RTAC1S09.

    The rotary is switch is connected to the motherboard.

    The connector sits between R31 - C24

    Order of cabling
    Brown - Red - Orange - Yellow - Green

    The original rotary switch is wired up as follows:

    A = Red
    B = Orange
    C = Yellow
    H = Green
    J = Brown

    Wiring information is here
    Images of my original rotary switch

    You can see on the front where the pin is in placed next to the number 4:

    I have purchased a replacement rotary switch from RT-A

    This one is a 10 way but very much identical to the original cosmetically.

    The model number is: RTAP4ES10M25NS

    I'm trying to wire up the rotary switch but failing so far an need help…

    Here's the wiring diagram for the new switch:

    [IMG]

    I have tried various combinations, the most successful being:

    Sp 0 value -1 = k (Yellow)
    Sp 1 value -2 = h (Green)
    Sp 2 value -4 = a (Orange)
    Sp 3 value -8 = c (Red)
    Sp 4 value c1 = n (Brown)

    This gives me:

    Switch Position 0 = 30 Seconds
    Switch Position 1 = 128 Minutes
    Switch Position 2 = 128 Minutes
    Switch Position 3 = 3 Minutes

    (Position 0 meaning actual position one on the switch).

    I've tried swapping green and red and also brown and orange but this just makes everything 128 Minutes or no timer at all (I've not waited 128 minutes yet :) ).

    Any suggestions will be well received, i'm sure figuring this out will help others too :)

    Still stuck with this rotary switch :S

    Anyone have any suggestions?

    At the moment I've managed to disabled it... But would like it working like it originally was.

    It's far to hot to work on this but I think I'm finished now...

    The rotary is setup as a 4 way and is set to unlimited!

    I just need to set it up in my games room now (To hot to do tonight)
