Yakumo: Your Akihabara special was great :).

One of my friends saw number 12 and he said it was not his cup of tea , because he likes RPG´s alot , and said to me , "what about asking him about perhaps making a SSI (an old company) RPG special ?" . Since he likes those old school , but cool story driven RPG´s and also Master Of Orion 1 and 2. And Heroes Of Might And Magic , and other games , in that direction :).

But he said the quality, and the reviews were good, but it was the games, he was not the biggest fan of, but he is a fan of good old story driven games like those i have mentioned and Pirates etc. Civilisation 2 etc.

Anyway those games i have mention are not the hardest to get your hands on.

But how about it ? :)

Sorry WolverineDK but I've never really played any SSI games much and don't really have the time to get in to them. The stuff that features on Retro Core is mostly stuff I'm pretty familiar too which is why it's 99% Japanese stuff.

Hi. I'm mrkwang, the owner of mrkwang-blog.com . Found this thread through the stats of my site as you did. Maybe it's... LINK WAR!!!

I posted 1 more about this thread, however it's not very important, so I'd write with English once again what you saw before, this one. http://www.mrkwang-blog.com/tt/index.php?pl=1174

    Translation starts :

This site seems to be made by SERIOUSLY SEGA MANIAC BRITIAN.

    http://www.segagagadomain.com/

And I was really impressed by.

    http://www.segagagadomain.com/dreamcast.htm

    Category for Dreamcast.

Not sure he got all of them in his own collection, however he wrote brief description & DataBase.

And what I thought after I see this site is...

Thanks God I didn't go into a game company such seriously.

    : Translation ends.

Maybe last sentence could make you angry, as I assume. But it's not making fool nor saying bad words, just kinda praise thing or something positive like that. Korean & English are very different, so not sure how to translate exactly, however what I meant was POSITIVE.

Thank you for the English translation mrkwang. Yes, I know that Korean and English are quite different. Sometimes I have problems trying to say something I want in Japanese because it's so different than English.

Anyway, yes all the games on my site DO belong to me :) You'll find many game maniacs here at ASSEMblergames :D

Some of you may have noticed that my FTP has been down for a few weeks due to PC trouble. Good news is that it's now back up and running :)

Retro Core Volume 14 is now available on DVD with lower resolution XVID downloads coming on Thursday. The DVD version comes with a free special Sega Bonus Video CD :)

Retro Core's very 1st anniversary volume is finally here !! Retro Core is now 1 year old and still improving with every volume. This month we've started "Game of the Month" feature which will be the main game of the show with extended footage while all other games will be between 3 and 6 minutes long. You may also notice a few new tunes in this anniversary volume (^v^).
Featured this month - Bust-a-Move for PSX, Shien the Blade Chaser for SFC, Splatter House Wanpaku for Famicom, Alisia Dragoon for Mega Drive, Space Channel 5 pt2 for Dreamcast, Astal for Saturn and Kenseiden for Master System. This months Shite Of The Month comes from Bastard for the Super Famicom. Mobile Phone Gaming goes all 2.5D shooting crazy with Burring Fortress and this month the "VS" section is back with a look at the Sharp X68000 and Super Famicom versions of Phalanx. Finally a look at a wonderful Streets of Rage remake for the PC. That's 11 great games for your enjoyment.

Thanks guys. Yeah, I noticed that the XVID version of Volime 14 has a few bugs though. The voice overs on the Phalanx Vs section go out of sync meaning that I'm talking about something on the SFC version while the X68000 version is showing. Also the site address for the Streets Of Rage remake is really hard to read.

By the way, the address for the Streets of rage game is www.bombergames.se32.com but it seems to be down at the moment so what I'll do is add the game to my FTP in the Retro Core section.

The new opening music is taken from Namco's (well actually Genki made it) Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune 2 the music track is called Acid Runner and is track 13 on the 1st CD of the official OST. The version on Retro Core has been edited by me. The original is much longer.

Smashing great ! Damn, that show is among the best Retro Core shows I have ever seen. Thumps up mate :D ! Heck I would love to play Bust A Move , if you could use it with an audio CD of your own.

Pure class ! ! ! You have now upped yourself up to a rank of pure retro "Troldspejlet" quality !

If I made a "Yakumo game" I would make a shooter with quotations from Yakumo the writer between the levels . And many little secret easter eggs.

And thank you for not playing the in my mind despicable Spiceworld game (Sorry if I offend anyone with that comment).

Mark Edvard Smith, if "Troldspejlet" ever was searching for an English speaking retro gaming lover for a "Retro Core troldspejlet" show you would be it. And In Denmark you can use almost any curse words, you won´t be beeped out, but you would perhaps be told, speaking a more moderate (nice) English.

And the sound you have in the intro to Shite Of The Month makes me laugh my arse off !

Yakumo, I think you like the old dance music genre from the 90´s (DJ Bobo Culture Beat etc.). And the new Trance music intro is smashing, but I would love to hear the old too. Since your Intro is great , both with the new and old music. And I don´t think Electra Ainus will ever win ;)

I think it is a fine way of giving EA the finger when you call them Electra Anus lol

Yakumo-san I am proud of saying the show rocked. And screw the SNES VS X68000 outofsoundsync fuckup. The show was fabulous :)

Well, what can I say except a BIG thank you !!

It's funny you should mention DJ Bobo because a mate of mine from Czech is or was really in to him. He used to say that I'd love his stuff but I never did get to hear any. These days Japan is over run with that song from the Czech group, O-Zone. Bloody annoying that is!

Yakumo: Well, you could always search for DJ Bobo, and many other bands from that period of music in the real dance music genre. I could make a complete topic about the music genre, and well some Jpop is really dance music.

Now the genre has become a subgenre. Since trance techno became very popular at the same time. Scatman John is a dance music genre artist too. And the whole genre started .

With Sabrina and her "boys boys boys" song, back in 89/90ísh.

And it ended when dance became very influenced by trance.

They are two genres with MANY/A LOT of similarities.

DJ Ötzi is the very wrong turn with dance.

 Boys, Boys, Boys, I'm looking for a good time. Boys, Boys, Boys, Come and share your love with me :110: Or something like that. I'm pretty sure that came out in 1988. Ah, the days of dreaming over Kylie Minogue in school and trying my hardest to figure out just what the hell was a MooMoo Train from the KLF song. :banghead:

Finished watching RetroCore 14. Excellent, as it is usual from Yakumo.

Just a tiny detail: there seems to be some issue with sound repeating itself in the end of the Phalanx comparison. Boy, that intro is impressive for its time. The X68000 was one hell of a machine.
The american cover for that game (Super NES version, of course) was quite odd.

I'd love to play that 2D Saturn game. Also, great choice for game of the month. I've never played Space Channel 5 part two, unfortunately. The presentation made me drool.
