I miss Retro Core. BOTP is a fine diversion but I've lost count of the games I discovered because of Retrocore.
Ditto! It has been an education for me and extremely informative, it has also helped me spend far to much money on games.
Well guys, I'll try to get more Retro Core shows made but having to worked everyday and not get home until 8pm is a real pain.
yep an all new Retro Core. Thing is, it's actually now out of date because I'm updating the Game King this week with more power! A follow up video will be made.
This is not really a Retro Core show but just a little video I put together showing the 108 in 1 mini arcade cabinet.
Everyone watches Horror movies on Halloween. I however used to watch Kung Fu movies on Halloween instead. So when somebody expect BOTPs to be festive, it's House of the Dead.
It's hard to believe but a new Retro Core is out and a video with pretty bad audio about my new arcade emulation PC.
Really interesting video about the emulation pc. I really liked how you can cycle through different emulators and it's not as flashy as other frontends. And yes, as i said before when you posted it, that videocard box is super awesome. Gonna watch the arcade fighters video as soon as i get home.
The arcade video has really poor sound because the mic was near the amp's speakers meaning the music was really loud. In reality it wasn't that loud at all. I went with M.Galaxy because Hyperspin is too ugly, has way too much going on, a pain in the arse to install and i really dislike the cluttered style. M. Galaxy does all the stuff that Hyperspin can with still looking neat and tidy.
Just watched the new Retrocore 5 I'm surprised you actually did play a few fighters I have never heard of. Usually when a video says SO SO whatever you never heard of/played I Usually played or heard of ALL of them. Not the case here. I am Familiar with Asura Blade, Kabuki Clash, the Neo Geo one, Best of Best, Blood Warrior (Played it on one of my old shows) Angel Eyes, and Fighting Layer though.
Finally I get to scratch my Retro Core itch!!!! It's been a while and you didn't disappoint, some really obscure fighters there. I recognise a couple but the rest are very random indeed. Great work as usual Yakumo, trouble is I now want an emulation PC, dam you! Seriously though I prefer these sorts of videos over the the BOTP. Tell me you have run out of games for that and this will make a regular comeback?
Tao Taido reminds me of Body Blows on the Amiga computer, and not in a good way. Even down to the special moves. Since in Body Blows, you also had to hold down the button to make the special move. So Perhaps Tao Taido was inspired (control wise) by Body Blows. But I have no clue, and if you ask me. Not to take a shit on the Amiga. But back in the day, it seems to me, some Amiga Body Blows fans would have loved to see Tao Taido on the Amiga. Anyway great episode
I tried to find the most obscure Fighters I could. Looks like I did well as quite a few people haven't heard of quite a few of the games I featured. I'm glad you enjoyed the show. To get an emulation PC like mine can be done cheaply. Here's the rundown of what I paid. Used office PC (500GB HD 4gb Ram) 6000 yen GeForce750 - 12,000 yen New i5 CPU running at 3.4GHz - 5000 yen Extra 4gb Ram(total of 8) - 0 yen since I already had it Those are the rounded up prices off the top of my head. The actual cost may have been a few yen more or less. Sadly for you have have loads of games lined up for Battle of the Ports but I will try to make more Retro Core shows than what I did this year. Seriously, I think Amiga fans would have loved Tao Taido as the controls are similar. Still doesn't stop it from being compete crap mind you.
Really interesting video Yakumo, with some very weird games. The ones that used ripped off animation and sound effect are hilariously bad. From that list, i only have heard of Battle Circuit, but never actually played it. If you plan to make more videos of these series, i suggest racing and run and gun genres.
