    The first appearance of Dan
He was absolutely Pathetic in Alpha/Zero

I was thinking if the Alpla/Zero Series was released under the currant method of Capcom Street Fighter naming Alpha/zero 1 would have been Street Fighter III.

I miss scaling 2d games like that. They convey speed better than even most modern games do.

Blomby Car is one of the greatest video game titles ever. Sure, it may not technically mean anything, but saying the words "Blomby Car" is really fun.

    I second that!

Man I loved SCUD race, is that running on your emulator PC?

    Yep, runs 60fps at 1080p :)

    Hehe, it is funny :D

I prefer 3D but I'm amazed at what talented developers could do with raster effects, scaling and pure imagination.

Cheers! I'm happy to hear you can find something new.

It's a shame all those Model 3 racers never got home ports.
Maybe Sega and port those over to the Current gen in some kind of mega arcade collection.

The Arcade Racers episode was great! Some that i've never heard about.

I remember playing OutRunners a couple of times in the arcades and being so disappointed with the MegaDrive port. Sega Super GT was a mandatory game to play, back in the day. Local arcades i used to go, including GameWorks, all had the DX cabinets linked which made it even better. 20 years later, the graphics are still very impressive.

I know i might be alone in this, but i never really liked Daytona USA 2. I remember going to GameWorks on the opening day and they had 8 DX cabinets linked and i instantly thought "This is going to be amazing". After playing, i was like "What they have done?!". Like you said in the video, while the graphics are better, they lack in charm. They made something too over the top that completely misses the point. Control wise, the drift isn't near as good as the first one. It would be too dificult to match or even surpass the original game, but Daytona USA 2 was such a letdown for me.

I only saw Rave Racer once, and unfortunately didn't played it. Still have to try via emulation. Anyway, Namco was wise to never port it to the PS1, the downgrade would be too much. Shame they never did a Ridge Racer collection while they were still Namco.

Cisco Heat graphics were very good for the time, but yes, the gameplay hasn't aged very well.

I kind of agree with you about Daytona 2. The first time I played it I didn't like it at all but the more I played the more it grew on me. It's no where near as good as the original as you say and maybe even less fun than SCUD Race or SCUD Racer as I keep calling it :p

Maybe i should try playing it again, via emulation. I still haven't adventured myself on more modern arcade emulation, kinda stopped on the Model 2 hardware. I never really hated the game, but it was such a letdown. Seeing it next to other games like Sega Super GT, Crazy Taxi, Sega Rally 2 and even Dirt Devils, certainly didn't helped it.

So much for Sega learning from Atlus about not sucking as a Company.

You should give modern emulation a try. Just installed Demul on to my emulation box. Naomi, Naomi 2, Atomiswave, and Hikaru all run in 1080p at 60fps. I spent 2 hours playing Initial D Arcade Stage 3 last night. Going to give Planet Harriers a blast tomorrow.

I've had problems with Demul running in the past usually the Bios screen popped up then nothing. Not sure if they were bad roms or I didn't configure right.

Not like I'll have a computer that can run them any time soon to try it again though.

Old versions were pretty poor but demul seems to be spot on. Or at least the games I've tried are.

Any ideas if a i5 2500k + GTX560 1GB + 4GB Ram is enough to run emulation of these hardwares?

It will run but the frame rate will be low. To give you an idea, my desk top i3 with integrated Intel graphics chip set ran model 3 at 25 to 30fps. After upgrading only the memory from 4gb to 8gb the same emulator ran the same game at 50 to 60fps! Memory will help you an awful lot.
