Maybe this is a lesson for Sega to keep their domains instead of dumping them to save a 'whopping' $10 a year.

Don't forget the $.22 ICANN fee. That's the dealbreaker for me too.

The best way to learn is to read... This board? Now, there's a new link which points to the anouncement of the cease of SEGA Direct. LOL × 1000 or more.

    Here's a Babelfish translation of SOJ's response:

Ah, right, that's what I wanted to post when I came here. ^ ^

    - This is so awesome! The guy does everything we say. Except for the google ads... *sits patiently and waits to see if they're taken down*

Wow that really sucks this is all a scam. Why pick on the Dreamcast though? I really hope they do something for the Dreamcast's 10th anniversary. They probably won't but I hope they do.

PD: By the way, the person behind this would deserve my respect if he had just tryed to help people... But this has turned into a plain and simple cheat in my opinion.

    Thanks. :)

    - I tried doing it myself, but it only changed the subtitle.

Anyway, here's a statement of the SOA board admin SegaDawg:

Well, after all maybe this is just an "inocent" (and at the same time dangerous) strategy from a fan to force SEGA to adopt his plan of giving Dreamcast email accounts for free, in order to keep the Dreamcast name alive... Could it be?

But cheating people (although they supposedly are who get the main benefit), earning some money with advertisements (although it's just to pay the domain and hosting) and playing with copyrighted stuff is not an intelligent way to do it: All them will become your enemies as soon as they realize that's a lie. Apart of that, any "vampire-lawyer" could interpret that as an attempt to obtain profits from the SEGA and Dreamcast brands and also as the origin of big money loses. I know, the last one hasn't got much sense, but this is what they do in these cases. They even don't mind to ask their sons / daughters to paint hundreds of graphs so that they can have some way of proving it :p . Summarizing... Wrong way.

And it just keeps going and going...

Now the swirl changes between the North America / Japan orange and European blue swirl. Also, there's now a table at the top left that says only a couple thousand people will be able to participate.

The page isn't loading for me anymore. It looks like Sega may have had it taken down. Is it showing up for anyone?

It's got it's bandwidth limit exceeded, it doesn't seem that Sega has taken it down. It looks either it has got too much visitors or someone has attacked it to consume the bandwidth.
