KRIKzz is surely building them as fast as he can. I believe he has help in assembling his carts now. So it won't take a long time. The pattern for any new cartridge seems to be they are pretty hard to come by at first as they sell out very quickly. But eventually the demand settles and anyone interested usually can buy one. It is unfortunate to have to wait but these are hand made, not factory assembled. He is not a giant company with a factory. You shouldn't complain as if he is. And remember that now he has many different flash carts and has to assemble all those carts as demand for more stock happens. And he updates the firmware and OS for them. So be patient.
WTF, that was the announcement - giving us the exact date and time, go to the site? I went to the site, and it said "coming soon" so I come back a day later and it's all over and sold out?!? Your Twitter message was equally vague: Disappointed, I really did believe you that it wouldn't just "pop-up" and that we'd have some warning about when it was happening.
If you're talking to me I have no problems with the pace he's making carts at. Just the way they're sold. More with Stone Age Gamer's than retrogate. Either do first comes first served or sell to the most interested ones (leave announcing it half a week ahead out). And get a competent web admin. He posted the exact time and date at may 2nd, on his Facebook page, which is displayed in a box on the store front page. There was also a countdown running from almost a day before in huge text. Don't worry though, even if you were there at exactly when the countdown ended at 00:00 you might still have not gotten one.
Really? This is your first and so far ONLY post? Did you make and account just to bitch about not getting a cart? These things happen and it's really discouraging when people complain regardless of all the hard work being put into this. You should be glad you even get the opportunity to order it at some point because Ikari originally planned to only make about 100 units and be done.
That's not the thing. It didn't seem we got made clear when orders were set to open. I certainly didn't see a time mentioned here at assembler. To be fair I didn't follow his twitter and all that. I only heard of that above facebook countdown after the fact.
We had no idea they would sell that fast, I thought it would take at least a day or two. They all sold in 5 minutes, this crashed the site's software. The software is terrible I won't deny that, we plan on migrating to something better this summer. We put the same amount of Mega EverDrive up for order and it took 3 1/2 days to sell them all. I knew the SD2SNES was more popular, but not sell out in 5 minutes popular. I figured the price would scare most people off. I understand people being upset, if I were on the other end and was getting a bunch of errors I would be mad too, but it was out of our hands at that point in time. If KRIKzz can up production we may be able to do another pre-order, but it will be handled differently. I do apologize for those who missed it or got caught up in the site crashing. There really weren't that many to go around in this first pre-order. The boards seem to take awhile to make, which I understand KRIKzz said they are very hard to make, but I am sure his workers will get better and faster as time goes on. For people interested in Deluxe versions of EverDrives/SD2SNES we are working on getting more people to help us make them. We can't handle doing them anymore. Too many different carts with too high of a demand for many of them.
I don't blame you for being surprised StoneAgeGamer. SNES has a HUGE saturation of Copiers and Flash Carts. It's very strange there would be such huge demand for a very expensive flash cart which currently only plays a few more things than all the other options. Maybe if Super FX support was available right now. Or maybe people thought it already was. Maybe the huge market of SNES copiers and flash carts though should have been taken to suggest there would be alot more demand rather than less. It is strange because I really wanted the EverDrive MD when it was new because there are far fewer devices for Genesis and they are more rare and more expensive.
There's a segment who insists on ever higher compatibility. Not getting to pirate a handful of games worth jack, isn't good enough for them. It's like Super Street Fighter 2 Genesis.
I think less loading times and a better gui is *way* more important than support for some special chip games. It will be nice to play translations/unreleased games on real hardware of course.
I hope orders at retrogate site are going to get delivered before Stone age gamers sells them. Krikzz, can you tell us which invoice your working on? I'm eagerly awaiting at spot 2230

Yes I was thinking the same thing. Besides copiers there is Super PowerPak, Super EverDrive, Super UFO, and I believe that Russian cart as well. SD2SNES I just figured would be too pricey for most people.

The lack of support for special chips was the only thing stopping me from getting a snes flash cart before now. I'm taking a gamble that he'll be able to get SA1 emulation working. The five games that have been declared "will never work with this cart" are games I don't really care about, but I want my Mario RPG.
Not getting a cart is not what I'm talking about, I'm complaining about the total lack of a clear announcement - when we were assured there was going to be. I've been in contact with SAG for months about this product, been waiting for the pre-order for ages, and I took him at his word that we would get lots of warning and an announcement of when and where. That didn't happen, so yes I was sufficiently ticked off that I finally created an account (been lurking here for ages). SAG can you open a real pre-order then, none of this limited window stuff, just open it up for pre-orders now for anyone who wants one and is willing to put down a payment now. You can always refund for those who can't wait, or if it turns out not enough are ever made. You can do that today, and we can start queueing up like adults rather than rushing your site at a specific time of day - depending on which medium we follow you on (Twitter and this Forum didn't get a date/time announced, and I don't do Facebook). Just leave it open...
Agree with you on the pre-order solution sounds good have it in waves considering who ques up first and have a build and ship date but that's probably more work for SAG, I don't do facebook either but you can still follow it if you go to SAG main page you don't have to create an account to see his latest updates I usually check the site periodically to see if he announces anything new on his Facebook page. I was there for the count down I wasn't fast enough to get in plus I got an error during check out all we can do now is just wait and see what SAG decides to do next.
My Sd2Snes should come in this week and I was preparing the SD cart for it. Anyone know what's the files limit per directory? I'm assuming it must be quite high like the Mega Everdrive, but I haven't seen a limit listed anywhere. Since the cart has been out for a few months (from other vendors) and close to 2 weeks from Retrogate, I'm surprised that we haven't seen more videos popup onto youtube or feedback/reviews in forums. Also, what's currently available for MSU? I've seen Road Blaster, Super Mario Odyssey and Chrono Trigger, but are they all out and available (on the net) or are they just demos that most people will not get their hands on?
The way we did it with the SD2SNES has worked fine in the past. Yes it did not work this time and we understand that now and if we would have had any idea this would have happened we would have done it differently. Its very easy for people to point out how stupid we were for doing it this way when it did not work. Hindsight is 20/20. We honestly did not realize how popular it would be, especially the Deluxe which are more expensive than the boards. Your suggestion seems reasonable, but its not as easy as it sounds. I cannot just take peoples money with no idea when or if I will ever be able to fill their order. I have done this in the past and its only pissed people off when it doesn't ship when they expect or in a reasonable time. You may be reasonable, but not all people are. Really at this point, no matter what I seem to do people get mad. Once people give someone their money I find their patience level drops significantly. I could possibly do a waiting list I guess, but I am not taking people's money, it would have to be strict, and it would not be a guarantee. Once I have a board, I will e-mail you with instructions for payment, you must pay within 3 business days if not you get moved to the bottom of the list kind of thing. This, I am sure, will also piss some people off as well, but not sure really what else to do. I can't wait weeks for payment and I can't track people down for money. Sorry I should have been more clear about the warnings. I did make adequate warnings on our FaceBook/Twitter pages and the site itself, but not on this forum. This was a mistake.
