According to this web site, the batteries in this device are not prohibited from being shipped internationally via air transportation: http://about.usps.com/postal-bulletin/2012/pb22336/html/updt_004.htm It states that if the batteries are not installed in a device, then you cannot ship them.
Why is it that US customers can't get a battery shipped into the country? Will customs somehow think it's a bomb? This sounds strange as it would prevent shipping any game with a battery backup or a Dreamcast since they also contain a similar battery.
Stone Age Gamer was talking about this and saying that for customers outside the US he could not ship them out with the battery installed via USPS. The ban doesn't affect domestic shipping here(shipping from state to state such as from him in Michigan to me in New Jersey). But, what you guys SHOULD'VE read and this is my understanding as well as some people here, the ban ONLY APPLIES IF THE BATTERY IS BEING SHIPPED EITHER OUTSIDE OF THE ITEM OR BY ITSELF. You can STILL SEND IT WITH THE BATTERY IF THE BATTERY IS INSTALLED IN THE ITEM. So, for example, you can send out the Supaboy if the battery's been installed already(which he'd have to open the package up to do and do by hand), but you cannot send the Supaboy out in it's unopened state as the battery is not in the device. Same with the SD2SNES. You can send it out if the battery is installed in it(which it will be), but you cannot send the battery outside of the cart. Sorry for the caps, but I wanted that part to get attention.
yeah according to that rule, you can't ship any lithium batteries to US military addresses whatsoever via airmail.
I should have multi quoted. But basically it is because some companies overcharge the batteries and they burst into flames inside two cargo planes since the year 2006 so they don't want more planes bursting into flames basically (why does it rhyme, that is bad )
The rule applies if shipping to a military address and/or if you are shipping more than 1g of lithium. Somehow I doubt one CR2032 has 1G of lithium in it. I believe it probably has about 1/2G of lithium and the rest is steel and whatever other materials are inside one of those things. Most of the weight is going to be steel probably about 2G and the battery itself weighs about 2.75G-2.9G. I wouldn't be concerned about shipping one but if he is shipping like 10 or 20 carts to one address or on the same plane then that would be of concern.
It looks like they may have revised this since their original notice because below is what I got directly from USPS on 5/16/2012. As you see it specifically states even batteries installed in devices count. So this is good news it seems. So it wasn't what "we should have read" it seems they revised the policy since then. I am on vacation right now so keeping up on USPS policy isn't on the top of my list. P.S. Thanks to the people who pointed out these changes, since I am not currently in the loop I may have missed.

I bet some executive @ USPS that made the original decision didn't realize how many devices actually have little lithium batteries in them (like every computer motherboard, among other things) and they were promptly flooded with complaints and forced to backpedal and reconsider.

Got a few questions, How come when i wanto play a DSP game <Mario kart> i always get stuck at the nintendo logo? Do i use the wrong DSP bin files? What is the lifespan of this device ,the SD2SNES. Can i flash it like 10.000 times like the other flashcards, or does this have a more extended lifetime? Because now we can flash our games faster, but with that we also flash it more often Can anyone point me out to the most recent Nongoodsnes set? I read somewhere that the latest version is from april, but i can't seem to find a complete set ... Thanks in advance, Cheers
I don't think piracy is allowed here, so your better of asking at snesorama ) The sd2snes uses ram so there's no flashing limit. Mario Kart works fine here, try to get the coprocessors dump for bsnes 0.8. I can't point you to that for piracy reasons.
