Thanks, I'll keep an eye out for it. I wish i had heard about this thing sooner. I just stumbled across a post on this forum talking about the sd2nes earlier today while searching for SNES flashcarts.
The first batch from Krikzz is not even out yet. The first batch Ikari did for the first 200 were sold directly by mail. When it pop up at retrogate or stoneage gamer we will be informed here.
Mock-ups of SD2SNES carts. I may do one more color, not sure what yet though. Carts are real, label are photoshopped on. (click to view larger) (click to view larger)
Yes, we use same Universal shells KRIKzz uses. They have exact shape of JP/EU shells, but with the two slots in the back. Those shells will also be colored. We still sell NA style as well because we found a lot of people like that style and we have so many shells from donor carts it seemed like a waste to trash them all.
I'd use a red maximum carnage cart for mine which coincidentally is the same game I used for my everdrive MD
Maximum Carnage will not work. SD2SNES will have the extra 2 connectors on the PCB. Doom's red cart would work as Super FX has the extra connectors.
SD2SNES was designed to work in both regular shells and SuperFX-style shells. However with a regular shell you will have to cut the two slits for the extra connectors.
He means the shells that aren't for games like Super FX won't have the mold right for SD2SNES and you'll have to cut in the bottom part of the cartridge to make these slots for the pcb to fit.
SuperFX (and maybe some other special chip games I don't know) connector is segmented into 3 segments. Two small connectors on the sides and the normal large connector in the middle. Most normal games only have the large connector in the middle. See this image of the SD2SNES: Now compare it to the Super EverDrive: See the 2 connectors at the bottom that are on the SD2SNES, but not on the Super EverDrive? Those are what I am talking about. The SD2SNES was designed to work in both regular and SuperFC-style shells, but if you want to put it in a regular style shell it will require a little extra modding to allow those 2 extra connectors to pass through. You can also see in these comparisons that the SD2SNES as more notches to accommodate the two different shell styles.
Most enhancement chips use them. The DSP series does not. But Super FX, SA1, Cx4, and likely all others like SDD1 will use them also.
Give Wrampi some for 17th March (DoReCo) - but give me a warning if you do, so I got enough cash at hand
http://sd2snes.de/blog/archives/238 I'm itching to get my order in. Hope the March estimate is closer to the start of the month than end. I was looking through games, oh my is there a lot of them, is there any thread with recommendations of public domain games or fan mod/hacks of games. Looking at the Super Mario World set there are 277 things in the list. And in Japan it looks like they had a Pachinko or Mahjong game released every month.
How much will cost with JP/EU shell? The Super Everdrive will be available again or it's discontinued? Can I pay with moneygram or western union in Stoneage Gamer? Stoneage Gamer sends items to Bogotá, Colombia? Thanks in advice
What's the latest info on dealers? There seems to be some confusion about whether or not shop.gp2x.de will have them?
