This better come to the 360! It would feel far more at home on that system. Look at the 360 as the follow up to Dreamcast that never was. Yakumo
Most Sega games are multi platform these days cept Yakuza which would sell 5x more if it was multiplatform
They need to pull their fingers out of their collective arses and give Daytona USA 2 the home console release it deserves. They could knock it out on the PS and Xbox stores and make some money. Unless I missed the point and that is in fact what they plan to do, in that case carry on!
The Dreamcast version probably falls into that category, but as for a like for like arcade perfect port....No it didn't. Not best pleased with that ether really since I prefer the original presentation of the game rather than the Champ Circuit Edition style. Thank god for Nebula M2, you can play the arcade in 1080p and in extended widescreen so you can see more at the sides.
Dear Sega, See the Logitech G25 and G27, make it compatable with any new version of Daytona USA. Although even better make a proper Daytona USA steering wheel, you can't play a driving game with a sodding pad and you need a 4 speed shifter to really play the game properly. Lots of love
While we're on the subject, I recently bought the Daytona USA CCE for the Saturn, and having previously played what I thought was the pc version I found out there were some circuits missing in the Saturn version (more like extra ones in the pc version really) ... or at least I thought so but now I'm not so sure. Can anyone confirm this since I don't have the pc version anymore (lent it to someone who never returned it, silly me)... But I do remember though that you got the option to pick out the time of day (including a deadly as hell "twilight" setting where it was near damn impossible to see anything).
The Japanese only Circuit Edition for the Saturn has a (hidden) mode to change the time of day, plus it has much tighter controls and a few improved textures compared with the earlier western release, not to mention the return of the original soundtrack - even if this is unfortunately restricted to being in a medley format! As for a bonus course, there was indeed one featured in the PC edition, which I seem to recall being quite difficult. Actually, does anyone know if this was created by the original developers, or was its exclusivity due to it being the work of the conversion team instead? If the former option was the case, I'd love to know why Saturn owners didn't get the opportunity to race on this particular track...
I can only hope for this, love Daytona USA.. it would suck if they just port the original saturn release, that was a crappy port but ok for the time and still fun to play. It should be on 360, at least the controller is close to the Dreamcast one in a way.
Daytona USA for the Saturn was not a crappy port, except graphically. After all, gameplay is what counts and that's the only version of Daytona that feels spot on. CCE/Circuit Edition is better graphically, but not fun to play - in fact it feels more like an inferior sequel than a version of Daytona.
I suspect this will be a port of Sega Racing Classic with all the licensed "Daytona" elements restored, and the rabbit in that teaser video could be hinting at a possible Easter 2012 release date.
