Your correct bad_ad84 it was an incorrect install, but not a user error, its down to discrepancies in different version SNES consoles.
The XTAL is not on the right but on the left for the SNES II/Jr/Mini (This I found out with my multimeter and continuity test), there was a few things that are different and will be doing a write up on this in the first post to accommodate the other versions and show the different parts in comparison

ALL IS WORKING NOW (I Think, not tested IGR yet, but assume its working)

The XTAL is on the left, its the right pin of the xtal that you solder to. Not that the xtal is on the right.

the SNES JR the XTAL is standing on end when the board edge is facing you so for the XTAL to be horizontal the board needs to face you from the controller port side. which then means the LEFT hole of the XTAL must be soldered not the Right side.
Basically what I found out is the TC1 which is not present has a sign + that need to continue on to the XTAL and from there go to the SuperCIC board..
On a Normal 1-CHIP (Large SNES) that is on the Right Hand Side of the XTAL Crystal and on a SNES II its on the Left hand side of the XTAL Crystal.

I hope what I said makes sense.

EDIT: infact, the common thing on all boards 1-CHIP is the TC1 point. it in not present but has solder points covering the hole. and has a clear + sigh on the positive side. I think that it is possible to ise the + point on the TC1 after XTAL removal to solder to that as I VIA, its the same destination

I just broke out a SNES JR and a Phat 1chip, as I didnt really follow your post.

You are correct, it also looks like connecting to TC1+ pin works for both the phat and the mini. I will relabel that connection.

No probs I will do it a bit later, im knackered, been on this snes all afternoon. I haven't even screwed it back together I just left it. Need a coffee ;)

In respect to the Board the XTAL is the only thing really, that I saw was different. the other things are really to do with install locations of each wire

For lifting pin 111, I use hot air rework station and a scalpel to lift the pin. It's finer than using a pick

That was going though my head when I was doing it my way, but I think I was at a point I just couldn't be bothered to swap over and carried on

One thing im not sure of. I can do all Region colours with reset button and I can do all region colours with the IGR, so that is A, B, Y and I can even do the soft restart, L,R,Select,Start

But I cant do HARD RESET L, R, Select, X (BLUE). Is this a feature missing from 1-CHIP as the install has gone perfect, apart from that every single other feature works exactly as it should

Well that would be to do with the code on the IGR pic. Which is ikaris work. I have not heard this before though, I will check my console(s) and also ask keropi (I know he has a 1chip console with igr built on stripboard)

It couldn't be a bad install anyway, because normal reset works and it's reading the pad for other combinations

Just logged and seen this, long reset works for me... I use a sd2snes and use long reset to get back to the main menu once a rom is loaded.
My IGR/50-60/SuperCic stuff are all from Bad_Ad84 ...
Pretty sure it has nothing to do with it, but for the 1CHIP I am reporting the schematic used was ikari01's one without the decoupling caps on the chips and power. I followed this one:

    and this is installed: [IMG]

the 1chip part shouldnt have anything to do with it, its not connected to the pad lines nor the reset line.

I will do some investigation tomorrow.

I suspect it must be interference with where the controller lines are routed. I will lift the 3 pins from the PCB and wire them direct.
