Late to post but I'm getting one of the Canadian units. It was a bit of a mess for Canada and they sold out with in mere minuets. I had a coworker who had one in his cart but he had taken too long to try to remember his paypal password and lost out. =/
When items are sold online, high volume of users will crash and make the site unresponsive. It seems companies still don't understand online sales do not work in large numbers. So what people will do is snap most of them up, or get friends addresses to buy them all up and sell them for stupid prices on eBay. If anyone is that desperate for different colours of plastic are pretty fucking stupid. Sony should've made these just like any other limited edition, and sold them in stores with pre-orders. What a fucking mess this is.
Congratulations! I heard about the Canadian launch, they tweeted sometime in the morning and sold out in minutes supposedly. That's awesome you were able to snag one! Quite crazy, but Sony posted 28 of these 20th Anniversary PS4s on eBay yesterday; possibly from cancelled orders of the original preorder??? Sold out quickly, but rly irks me that one person bought 5 units, and another guy bout 4 with two separate transactions. Ridiculous. Yeah it kind of sucks that some were able to get multiple units. It would have been nice if they could have filtered that some way. In canada it was one per house hold but I think they sold too fast for anybody to even remotely try getting more then 1. Cool you'll get yours soon, I think the estimated ship date for canada is first week of January. Also I know the situation for this sucked for some but on the other end, why can't more companies go so far above and beyond when making LE. I have many 3DS/Vita LE and the effort that went into some of those is downright awful. I've been reading a lot of people who bought in the eBay auction from Sony are having their orders cancelled. On the other hand, a lot of people at the GAF ordered more than one unit with intent to sell. I can't understand how Sony is handling this mess of a launch. Great at unboxing video, can't wait to see what number I get! I've wanted one of those, but got the entirely white Xbox slim Walmart bundle that came with Skylanders instead. I rly wanted the white kinect, but never got around to buying one. Would have collected dust anyways haha! I know! Just got mine too
Still hoping they'll make the special Dual Shock 4 or even the faceplate available for everybody else.
Got it! FedEx just dropped this off today! Happy to report number 08883 has made it into my hands. Since my family celebrates Christmas on Christmas Eve, this was perfect timing.

It does state in auction Any orders addressed to P.O. boxes, APO/FPO addresses, freight-forwarding addresses, and those recognized as reseller orders will be canceled and refunded. so if someone brought multiple consoles they might well get it cancelled
I get excited pretty easily, usually. thats what I was thinking, but I'm wondering if they'll repost those cancelled auctions back up on eBay?? Might be a chance for someone who legitly wants one to get one I live ice in an apartment now, but have kept my billing address to my moms home (childhood home) so I don't have to deal with the hassle of possible hassles with shipping/billing issues. it is especially handy in this situation, and I recommend keeping one card or bank tied to that for such circumstances! i know. My heart slowly settled in once I read the number. Though, you can think of the 3 at the end as like "3 eights," yes? Maybe?? Idk, just making things up now I could see myself like that. Actually, despite that I'm nearly two months shy of turning 30, im still quite a kid inside
