PSX was standard usage in Europe back in the day, too. But yes, I never heard "PSX" in Japan, just "PlayStation" or "PS".
All brazilian game magazines called it PSX as well. Only after the PSOne launched and PS2 info started to appear, that they changed to PS1. PlayStation Startup in 1080p
I want to get my hands on that 20th anniversary console so bad!! Gonna be obsessively researching and checking websites, It's probably gonna be harder to obtain in UK no doubt.
I got a lot of demos from OXM, but by the time the 360 was released I realized that all the demos on the disc could be downloaded (the vast majority of 360 games (maybe all) have demos online, which is great).
20th anniversary sale: http://blog.eu.playstation.com/2014/12/03/playstation-20th-anniversary-discounts-go-live-today/ Are all PS1 PAL releases 50hz? Was thinking on getting Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2, Tekken 2 and Wipeout, all to play on the PSVita. And what about PSP's Ridge Racer?
http://uk.ign.com/articles/2014/12/05/street-fighter-5-exclusively-on-ps4-and-pc so fucking hyped Big news, but i see super/hyper/ultra/mega/radical SFV being on X1. SF is too big of a franchise to be exclusive imo
They'll probably go back and forth. Super SFV comes out exclusively on XB1, Hyper Arcade SFV is for PS4, Hyper Extreme Ultimate SFV surprisingly is an Ouya 2 exclusive...
Now if only we could Phantasy Star Online 2... Also it should be mentioned...this: Littlebigshadowofthecollusus Or, littlebiggodofwar
So pissed off right now. I've got a PS4 in my basket on the Sony store, but I can't get through checkout without a server error at some point of the process. It amazes me how time and again big companies don't appear to be ready to handle obvious surges of traffic to their sites.
Lucky sod; after an hour I managed to get to the end of checkout with the console still in my basket and it was only when I tried to confirm final payment that I got a message stating that the item had been removed from my basket as it was no longer it stock. Not happy to say the least. Just hope the same won't happen when the EU version goes up on the store, but who knows when that'll be if the US is anything to go by - they could at least let people know when and where correct information about it is going to be available. Details were supposed to be given in the keynote, but that didn't happen. I only knew it was available as I happened to go searching on the Playstation US twitter feed (something I've never done before) after it wasn't mentioned. Regarding that keynote, I thought it was pretty poor. I personally couldn't care less about Street Fighter and the bulk of the indies titles they introduced to pad out the presentation. Uncharted is always good and Yakuza 5 was a bonus, but I've moved on from the PS3 and it's a bit of a cop-out in Sony's apparent "tell us what you want" policy, given that it's a game that was already released on the same platform some time ago in Japan.
Can't say I got one yet, but it took exactly 1 hour of hitting the F5 key and I got an order confirmation email, but I won't have my hopes up until it actually ships.
That's a bummer, sry. I kept getting an error when I refreshed, but realized I could use backspace and the page with Submit button doesn't refresh on Firefox. So I just kept "backspace" then click Submit multiple times until I got a confirmation page. Arent you you in the UK? Folks at the gaf trying to order from UK could not finish checkout due to no international ship...maybe that's it? Enjoyed some some of the games in the keynote (Uncharted!!!!), but I would not have watched through the whole thing were it not for preordering the 20th an OS4. I won't say it was lackluster, but only a few games I was truly interested in. Congrats on making it! At least you have some peace of mind, page now says no longer in stock. Fyi, new/old profile here, long time lurker, just haven't been in the collecting game lately.
No, as I was trying to ship it to a US proxy service. I figured I may as well try and get hold of a US console, as there has been no mention of how to get hold of a European one, although a price of €499 has been mentioned multiple times (which stills works out more than a US console plus shipping and taxes), so I'm assuming it'll be available for general sale at some point. There are currently competitions for them on various European Playstation sites, but that's only for 20 consoles across the entire continent I think (as the Italian site just redirects to the UK competition page). I've just subscribed to every PS twitter feed I can think of to get news about it as soon as possible. I'm hoping the EU stock isn't all centralized, as I could manage to get one shipped to the UK, Italy or France (and Spain at a push), although the UK price of £399 which has been mentioned on some sites is marginally higher than everywhere else.
Ah, gotcha. Word is that preorders start for Canada next week at Sony's Canadian store, so it's not over, yet. The preorder window surprisingly (to me) stayed open for much longer than I expected, amid all the hype.
Yeah, I only saw the tweet about it 16 minutes after it had been posted and thought that it would probably have already been sold out. My guess is a lot of interested people just missed out due to the lack of information given out by Sony.
I wish they'd make a limited edition original PS1 for a short time, in a unique red or purple or something :3
