Then again since the wii kicked ass in sales this gen even with POS gamecube guts is it really that hard to think that the nextBox wont be an awesome jump in specs like the last but msft's wii?

After all this is the company that released windows ME and kept going with the abysmal chunk of shit that was windows mobile for years even with the iphone and android taking the market by storm.

After the massive cashburn that was the first xbox and the losses from the RROD it only makes sense to launch a simple weak console if 99% of consumers dont give a shit about highend CPUs and GPUs

 

All rumors seem to go against what OXM said awhile back. and people from ATI said the GPU for the Next Box is going to be something ground breaking but not much official was said since.

Again THIS WAS in OXM awhile back.

Like I just said I wish Microsoft would say SOMETHING to put these rumors to rest. I guess E3 will be STFU time.

let's also remember that consoles have always had less than spectacular specs compared to PCs of their time. And you're talking about a PC running not JUST the game but the OS as well.

Just compare Xbox 360 version of RE5 to the PC version. The PC requires far beefier hardware because it's not SPECIFICALLY coded for it...

This Rumor actually has me pretty jadded. Between that and Capcom snubbing 360 owners on SFXT extras. I'm still getting Soul Calibur V but I'm just so Jadded at this point I'd rather start buying up Saturn Games than any new games now.

 

The system won't play second hand games.. How can that even bloody work? Especially for players who don't connect their consoles to the internet. Such a stupid lie...

 

It's a better way to spend your money anyways.


The 360 was fantastic up until 2008. Prior to that we were getting great stuff like Lost Odyssey (still the best JRPG of this gen IMO) and MS had wonderful exclusives like Mass Effect, Bioshock, and Ninja Gaiden II and even MS was pumping out cool stuff like Halo 3 and Gears of War and so on.

Then MS quit caring or something, lost pretty much every non-1st party exclusive they had, and are now content with just making Halo and Forza. :shrug:

 

Lack of 360 exclusives is another reason I'm so jadded.

Well the 360 still has XBLA exclusives and 100s of indie games...IF YOU CAN FIND THEM

I swear somebody in the blogsphere has it in for Microsoft.

They're still alive, in a way. I got Daytona USA off of XBLA the other day. That is a great conversion. If Sega just made really good ports like that, I'd be satisfied. Scud Race, please.

Automated telephone activation perhaps. Unique key for each game copy, unique key for each console, combine and receive unique activation code. That copy of the game is now married to the console and an activation code cannot be generated for a different console from that copy.

The question/concern was regarding those who do not use internet connectivity. There are people who do not connect the console to the internet.

 

Seeing how much moolah they "lose" to gamestop they may add a dvd burner which adds a serial or some shit to each new disc so its "branded" for that console only and cant be used in any others

TBH I feel the industry has lost its soul, games are good but I no longer get that feeling of "whats gonna happen next??!" like I did before

Also while we're on that topic still; I've been told by many people that second-hand games hurt the industry more than piracy.. I somewhat understand this, but wouldn't this change by how many times the game has been resold?

 

Bollocks to 2nd hand games. It also means you can't take you game around to a mates house!! You'd have to take your whole system!
