Exactly right, there is nothing wrong with having motion on a console. But PLEASE make it an OPTION. Other M was completely ruined for me cause of the stupid way they made the player use the scanner. So hope they modify the system in some way. The name of it sucks! Wii HD sounds more promising than U way too basic for my liking.
I like it and will buy it day one....but what do I know 'cause apparently I am not a "real gamer". I only play my Ps3 and 360 just so no one laughs at me and keep my Saturn and Dreamcast going just so peeps know I got street cred. All the other consoles I own are just for respect.:033: Haters gonna hate.
Yeah, an idiot who made Nintendo a shitload of money with rebranded old tech, a generation after the "state of the art" console from Nintendo was received mostly with apathy.
The more i see the Wii U controller the more it reminds me of the kind of thing i'd have though up when i was younger thinking it sounds cool to have all these features in a controller but knowing it probably wouldn't be all that great. I do hope Nintendo decide to go back and make an updated wii type controller as the main means to use the system and then have this tablet style thing as an optional extra.
I really need to more info to make up my mind but some of the factors I'm thinking about are... -Price for system -Price for extra controller -System Specs -Battery life of the controller -3rd party support -3rd party exclusives -What developers do with the system -Is Nintendo going to drop another system right after the PS4 and next Xbox launch That last one might not affect my buying a WiiU but it sure as hell will affect my decision to buy the system after that if I don't think I got my money's worth.
I figured it had to be limited to one touchscreen, otherwise it creates a dynamic wherein the user would need to purchase multiple very expensive controllers. Multiplayer experiences will use wiimotes or classics. I'll definitely buy one. I only play single-player stuff anyway, and I can't wait to see how EAD uses this thing.
Wii U utilizing the $400-500 in Wii accessories I already own was a smart move. (haven't gotten my value back out of them at all) I can see most current Wii owners likely to upgrade.. If it's $300 ish I see no reason we won't grab one at launch. This all even taking into mind our wii has mainly collected dust it has provided some decent entertainment. Black or silver one at launch would really help too... white systems, imo, are god awful looking next to every other piece of home entertainment equipment.
I'm thinking it'll be somewhere between £200 and £300 in the uk more likely just above £200 although i could be wrong.
WiiU, I look just like Buddy Holly I can't be the only one who hears this every time they read that name.
Alchy, you could make yourself a small fortune by suggesting that to Nintendo's advertising division!
Yeah, I can't see spending more than $300 for the thing, but that's about my limit for any new hardware really. I didn't get a PS3 until it was $299 either.
A bit crap that you can only use the one touchscreen. I'll probably still pick one up anyways. If they pull off the "take the game from the tv onto your controller" part then thats a big plus for me, the missus doesent like to watch me play games but cries if I leave her to her self for hours on end to play in another room ffs :<
only one touch controller? cm'on! GC did better with 4 GBA connected... this sounds bad... also touch controller not for sale? what if the kids smash it? ?_?
Um well let's see: Blu ray is a damn STANDARD. meaning that for the next near and foreseeable future it will not go anywhere. Most high end blu-ray players can have their firmware upgraded and changed to take advantage of new blu ray tech. As long as the wavelength of that laser stays the same (and it well, hence the name) you can ship things like 3d movies and just send out firmware upgrades. But since ninty is so rogue they will never do this and choose to buy tech from panasonic, ensuring they box themselves into a nice little corner down the line.
