Your statement only holds water regarding the first levels of Sonic 1 and some leves of Sonic 2/3/K. Sonic can't go balls out most of the time when you're progressing for the most part, although you do get your fun rides (Aquapolis in S3). I think the same applied to the 3D stuff. If you were good enough you wouldnt hit a wall. Bugs you say? Well I don't remember being bugged by them for too long before I got perfect rankings :110:
Reason you would put down the dough for these games again is convience and online play. I was dissapointed ikaruga didn't include the art galley, however the online was blast, even though there was some lag.
DX had terrible frame rate issues. And SA1 is still easily the best 3D Sonic game, not that that means all that much. SA2 could have been better if you could've actually played as Sonic more (who cares about Shadow, he sucks and always has) and if there hadn't been any Knuckles rap songs.
Oh dear god. It looks to be a port of DX, it runs in 4:3 and it looks horrible. Pics at neogaf. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=19280908&postcount=294 -edit- Here are some decent pictures. http://www.gameswire.net/screenshots/sonic-adventure-15-live-arcade-screens_446.html
Oh, don't get me started on that. I've said it a million times, the music in parts of Sonic Adventure 2 was so bad I switched of the sound. Something that I've never done on anyother game in 20 years of gaming. I F*ing hated that shit.
See, I told you all a Dreamcast with VGA would be the better choice just like all the other DC to XBOX Live ports
Oh, I agree about some of the music, but there were some songs I thought were great and really suited the action (Metal Harbor, Green Forest, Prison Lane and of course City Escape :lol. Even the rap songs could've been somewhat tolerable if the levels hadn't taken so long to complete and they hadn't looped over and over....no, they still would've been terrible.
Sega once again firing up the Dreamcast Port-o-tron (seriously, there are so many DC ports on XBLA now that they could just as well make it a new sorting category) Guess that gives us a little extra hope for one day seeing Jet Set Radio and Phantasy Star Online hit XBLA one day (PSO better have 4 player split-screen support like the GC/Xbox version did and just for the sake of variety, add both a "classic" and "future" spray mode to JSR)
DX sucks because it has more bugs, gfx issues, framerate problems and IMO the controls feel off. I say this even with it sitting in my GCN collection (along with SA2, both sonic collections, Heros & *shivers* shadow in my gcn collection). I sadly must admit I have barely played SA2. As soon as I got to the first knuckels stage, 1 min I could not take it anymore and turned it off. With all it's flaws, I still beat SA1 to completion and enjoyed doing it but SA2 I just couldn't take. =(
Surfing though the neogaf thread. it seems sonic was on a debug psn store along with the following. "Has anyone mentioned the other games? Why does the PSN seem to have more than XBL, Ecoo, F355, Headhunter and Space Channel 5 aren't on XBL but they are up on PSN..." Anybody have info to confirm this? (PSN equivilent of partner-net). This might sound dumb but even with what I do know about sony, this is the first i've heard of it. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=19260861&postcount=217
So,so true...And those stages were so annoying.Remember that one where you're in like space or some shit and you gotta hunt the emeralds with all those platforms floating?I played that one for over an hour.I HATED IT
Oh my God, yes I do. That was so bloody annoying. This is why I NEVER played Sonic Adventure 2 again apart for the Green Hill Zone remake in 3D.
Yeah yeah, Mario "Fat shit plummer" 64 wizard  Sonic Adventure 2 is deemed crap by the masses for the use of all those unwanted charcters and the God awful tunes that featured in Knuckles stages. The actual Sonic and Tails sections were pretty good. Yakumo
I kinda liked the Tails stages not all that much though.Sonic gameplay should have been the whole fricking game.I also hated how off the lipsyncing was and how the characters would do seemingly random things like wave their hands for no apparent reason, for example when Amy found Sonic inside that cage and freed him,she would talk to him and he was like doing some shit with his legs like training or something! What madness... Anyway,I just think Sonic's transition to 3D is faulty and should never have been executed like that.Maybe with a different development team I would have liked those games more.I really fancied the job that Bioware did on Sonic Chronicles, especially in making the characters actually have a reason to exist! Although the game got really boring due to the repetetive fights later in the game.A pretty darn good try though and I'd love to see Sonic Chronicles 2.
