http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=384622 Seems to be another great partner.net leak. If it's based on the GCN DX port, then *puke*. :-( -edit- Rumors are that it's also coming to PSN.
It seems that it will be the original one afaik, also there has been more leaks, a spanish guy with another partnernet account has release another image of it on neogaf. Also sega online ( original leaker ) has taken down the news on sega's europe request
Doh. I'm an idiot. For some reason I thought you linked the n4g.com news post, not the Neogaf post. Then I saw the mention of the Neogaf thread in the thread without a link... Stupid move on my part. Feel free to ridicule. -hl718
Hmmm odd, I thought it was Sony doing a deal with SEGA for Dreamcast games. I didn't mind DX either to be honest. They're always nice to have a little run through to past the time, I'll get it depending on the price.
If they'd fix the frame rate issues, I'd probably buy it. As ugly as this game can be at times, it was still kinda fun.
It was crap even at the time, though I played it through blinkered vision. Voice acting is awful. The lips don't sync and just look daft. The adventure fields are redundant- move object X to point Y for no real reason. Beetween different characters stories, the script changes (eg the same scenario will have different script depending on who you play as). Its glitchy- you lose all your speed by brushing a wall. You fall through the floor. You get stuck. The camera gets stuck. The homing attack is glitchy. The Super Sonic boss was an exercise in futility. The chao system is boring and the races always confuse me (SA2 did this right.) To summarise it in one word.. stupid. It needed more development time, it was rushed. If they remade it, I would be all for it- there is a great game underneath there somewhere but the execution is awful. SA2 is how it should have been, but after a recent play though, I think that is starting to show it's age, too, but only really in terms of gameplay.. I LOVED SA at the time, I was a HUGE sonic fan. I couldn't believe how shabby it was on a second play through a couple of years later
Seriously. If SA had been, say, a Gamecube original rather than partaking in the ~*Dreamcast Mystique*~, no one would care. I played it for the first time earlier this year (via the GCN port) and was thoroughly underwhelmed.
