Visual mode unlocks with a time faster than 30 minutes I think. I have that unlocked on mine and I'm still at 27 minutes. By the way, do you know where the sighn post is that you are ment to pass on stage 2-2? Yakumo
No idea. I haven't started on the achievements yet but there are level maps on the Sonic Retro Wiki that may help.
It's nice to see Sonic CD getting a decent port! At the moment, I've only got the Sega CD and PC version (which doesn't play well with Windows XP/Vista/7).
This should apply for this version http://soniccenter.org/maps/sonic_cd to be more exact http://soniccenter.org/maps/scdz22a.png
Ah, THAT sign. Bugger. i found that. I was looking for some sort of special sign. Thanks for the image!
Isn't it the PAST sign? If nit then I'd also like someone to point it out with a big red arrow. Yakumo
Since it says "signpost", I thought it was referring to the checkpoints...at least I've seen them called signposts. I reuploaded the map and marked the two upper signposts.
Android version Android version been delayed?? Well Ive downloaded it for Galaxy S2, Took a while to download apparently the servers couldn't cope. But I really like it and the controls are really good.
I double checked the story I posted earlyer, and checked andriod, and it is released, thanks for letting me know, will get it asap PS original story http://androidcommunity.com/sega-snubs-android-delays-sonic-cd-release-till-2012-20111213/I really need to look for better sources >.<
I still find it funny how Sega went up to a fan and asked to use his engine to remake Sonic CD. At the same time, I almost find it sad how an official company had to go to a fan to basically ask, "how did we use to make our game?" Either or, it's nice to play a new 2D Sonic game with the old physics (though Generations came REALLY close). I would love to see Sega use the engine again for Sonic 4 Episode 2, though something tells me that Sega won't. :/
The end of level sign post. There's two at the end of this level, so use the higher one to get the achievement. Also it should be noted that you can not get any achievements while playing as Tails or using level select.
Sega of today has nothing from the company that was the king of the arcades and made great games for the SMS and MD. They don't seem to have the talent to make great games, or even port their old good ones. Just compare their ports of Sonic and Sonic 2 for the PSN / XBLA to this Sonic CD. Same is valid for Crazy Taxy, Sonic Adventure and so on.
Actually, the guy had made a decent port of Sonic CD and uploaded it to youtube back in 2009. His engine had some merit and he apparently signed a deal with SEGA, convincing them that Sonic CD would be a great re-release. I'm sure he has made a pretty penny in the process and rightfully so - the guy didn't sit on his ass until SEGA knocked on his door or anything.
Yeah it's all great but I prefer to play this sonic on real sega cd hardware (model 1 only). It just feels better for me. And if they are re-releasing it, I'd prefer to see new HD sprites (not in different style, just in better quality and definition) - like Capcom did with Street Fighter 2 HD Remix (I find it to be the best example to re-release oldschool classics on a console of the HD TV era). But anyway its a great addition to the sonic collection released on xbla/psn.
Street Fighter 2 HD Remix looks shit. re-Drawing things in HD doesn't always make them look better. I'd rather play normal SF2 than the HD version but then again I have the XRGB to do a good job at displaying the game on a HD screen.
