yes, sonic for wii is pretty good.

    http://wii.ign.com/articles/931/931596p1.html

i picked it up too and i must say its pretty enjoyable and features nice graphics.

definately a good game for the wii after all, after all the crap that comes out everyday for this kind of console.

"If I could just clarify with a quick history lesson, the Wii and PlayStation 2 versions of Unleashed are identical, but very different from the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 builds, the latter of which were entirely developed by Sonic Team. Software house Dimps helped design the daytime levels in the Wii and PlayStation 2 iterations of the game. Dimps, you might remember, is responsible for the acclaimed Sonic Rush games on DS and therefore has proven experience producing zippy Sonic outings."

So I wonder if the Wii one is better then?

Looks like, from the review, the game is fun until you play as the werehog or whatever. See, why do they have to throw shit like that in. Just keep it Sonic!

Too bad. It was looking like Sega might've actually made a good Sonic game but then they had to go screw it up again.

Just a side note. I don-t know why, Sonic Team now tends to show more Super Sonic movies and stuff before the end of the game. Actually on this game, you can see him in the first movie:banghead:. I always though the good things should only appear in the end.

Pretty much stay away from the PS2/Wii versions of Unleashed. Go for the 360/PS3 versions. No matter what giant video game superpower site says, the next gen versions are way better than ps2/wii versions.

A lot of things. You can say it's almost an entirely new game. Both Next Gen and PS2/Wii versions use different engines. You actually have a playable world map on the 360 version, while the PS2/Wii versions just have a click and go type of system (with npcs to talk to as well, figure that out). Cutscenes are prerendered on the PS2 version while they are actually rendered natively on Next Gen consoles (Voices are still the same, no rerecordings). Some more music is available in the Next Gen version (they don't seem to be using ADX though, but the PS2 version does however). There are different missions for day and night for both versions, but I heard the better ones were on the Next Gen versions. Of course you also have the ability to install the game on the HDD (from what I hear, it literally takes 1 1/2 seconds tops to load everything from the HDD), achievements (360 only of course - if you're into that sort of thing), 1080p, 5.1 surround, custom soundtracks, etc. You also have future downloadable content appearing soon.

Oh and the best thing for many fans to ever happen to the game since like, Shadow the Hedgehog - you can pick English or Japanese subtitles/voices on the Next Gen versions. You can choose the Japanese language on the PS2/Wii versions of course, but the prerendered movies will still have English audio.

That's all I can think of right now. But trust me, at least it's 10x better than the garbage we're used to getting - if you choose smart and go with the 360 version. :p

Good to know..I am interested in playing it, now I guess I just gotta wait for it to become cheap. 360 is what I play the most anyway..haven't used my Wii in months.

100% correct. That just what I went through time and time again.
But the thing is sega still makes enough from a crap sonic game to justify another crap sonic game :banghead:

    The loop will never end.

    The Loop has ended.

I like Unleashed even the Sonic of War sections which are alittle frustrating until you figure it out.

wow, to sum it up, how many people here have bought the game?

because to me it seems that this thread is more about "wow this game is just not top notch so its total utter crap".

in truth, the wii-version is definately a good game, as good as a game in the range of 70-80% ratings can get, and this is normally meaning that its pretty solid.

as for the 360/ps3 versions, they sport much better graphics (of course) and gameplay that delivers more to your eyes. it also controls well with the gamepad.

either way, wii or 360 (or even ps2), if you like sonic OR if you like this genre, get this game.

but, in no way, never, ever...

never, ever again say that this game is the crap sonic that was released for 360/ps3 before.

its not as bad as sonic heroes or shadow the hedgehog either. quite the opposite to be honest.

@henners: nice graph you have there, but like many other comments, which seem to be based on the comment of the threadstarter since not many other people here replying in this thread actually have the game (i have it now both on wii and 360), its just biased and not based on the truth. and definately incorrect

Well here's my honest opinion so far and I'm only 4 levels in.

first off the Story is STUPID. Like Really dumb and there's a new character thankfully after reading spoliers I don't think we'll ever see him again. All he does is act as a turorial but he's worse than Omochao.

Also the warehog levels are annoying the combat is fun but there are platforming bits that get annoying and while the camera is fixed sometimes it'll hiccup but nothing game breaking like Sonic 06.

    Music is good

Graphics at least on the 360/PS3 version are awesome.

The 1 regular sonic level I played was like coming home after a long vacation the speed is perfect and it seemlessly goes from 2d to 3d and it's not really an on rails thing like the trailer made it out to be. Easily the best part of the game.

The onrails part is when you are on Tails' plane it's really fun.

So enjoyment of this game really hinges on the Werehog levels. I don't hate them but I can't say I like them either. If it had nonstop combat It'd be awesome but there's platforming to be had and a slow sonic......yeah.

So Sega Gave us a 100% sonic sonic game.....but they still gave us 2 totally different games like they have been. It just happens to be ALOT better than everything since Heroes. It's not perfect though but it's at the very least polished. They just need to refine it more. If the next Sonic is all levels like the day time ones we'll have the best 3d sonic ever.

I own this Game, played it 3 Times for now and i dont think i will play it one more time in the Future. You can read my Comment on the first Page and thats my personal opinion from a sonic-games fan who loved the Sonic 1 to SA Series. On the PS2, this is really just a bad Game with a mega-stupid & only for little kiddies enjoyable storyline, bad graphics and not the best controls. controls are not too bad but just not that good from what i want and remember in a sonic game. If the Wii-Version is the same like the PS2 (i only played on PS2) i cant understand how you think this deserves a 70-80% rating. Maybe you just played too many "great" Wii-Titles in the last Time so you think this one is a good Game? :icon_bigg On PS2 it deserves a 50-60% rating for me. If you ask me about some good parts in this game i only can say that the CG-Videos are well done and the Music/Sound-Quality is good. But thats all.
