nintendo made that for their portable system, take note. Sonic Rush and its sequel have followed a similar approach on the DS so that has been done too, and they're both excellect sonic games!
Honestly, sometimes I'm not sure whether you're just trolling constantly. Sonic Heroes was in 3D and had stacks of characters. It was also an embarrassment to the franchise, yet again.
I really tried to like Heroes but the engine was not cut for it. Unlike SA2, the camera of Heroes got me killed more than I cared to finish the game.
Just because of that I hated it, rofl. I think I played half of Sonic Heroes...some of it was fun, but it felt really wierd and gimmicky. But yeah, it did have a ton of characters. Unleashed looks fun though, the half that is Sonic. I'll have to check it out. The cool thing is Amazon was selling it for 25$ on black friday weekend, so it dropped in price a ton. Gotta be around 20 or less for me to bite, though.
Sorry to be the merchant of doom... "Terrible level design, unresponsive controls, and a poor camera are just the beginning of the problems in this awful adventure" 3.5/10 http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/sonicunleashed/review.html IGN Review with Video Review: http://au.xbox360.ign.com/articles/934/934713p1.html "Big piece of garbage. BIIIIG piece of garbage". "I'm going to do you a great favor and save you some time and money. Don't buy Sonic Unleashed. There, you can stop reading and spend your $60 on something more worthwhile. Like 60 tacos. But if you really just have to know more about the train wreck that is Sonic Unleashed, then I suppose we must go on. " It's quite like seeing an old friend in the gutter drinking himself to death...
There is one problem with that, they gave Sonic 360 a higher score. Dunno if I can trust that, this one at least looks like it was finished, lol.
http://www.tssznews.com/2008/12/09/ign-apologizes-for-review-of-sega-game/ Seems the IGN reviewer didn't even finish the game.
I played the demo...it's not absolutely horrible I guess. It's kind of hard to control on some parts. The graphics are really nice, and the look of Sonic reminds me of the old days.
I appreciated the demo quite a bit actually. They seem to get a lot of it right, albeit this is just a showcasing of the daytime levels unfortunately. I haven't had so much fun zipping through since Sonic Adventure 2, and that makes it a good thing. Too bad they don't have any werehog demos online, because that's the true test for me - how much of that shit I can put up with.
I don't know why this game is getting such a bad rep. I happen to really like the game. The daytime levels are what everyone has been saying that they want out of a 3-D Sonic game for years. Personaly, I think that they are absolutly superb! As for the nighttime levels, yes, they are completly pointless and have no reason to be in the game, but they don't play nearly as bad as everyone is saying. They use limited motion controls that are responsive and rather intuitive and the level layouts, while a little uninspired, are not frusterating or confusing. The game feels polished, maybe not as much as it could have been, but it doesn't feel rushed. I don't know, maybe it's just me, but I have a feeling that no one will ever be satisfied with another Sonic game again.
Is there any chance of level skipping and just playing the daytime levels on any of the releases? I don't feel like grinding through filler.
One more: http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/zero-punctuation/472-Sonic-Unleashed Don't think he liked that one.
Sega's Check didn't clear. that's why Unleashed is so poorly reviewed. But what can I say that hasn't been said already. warehog/town sections SUCK. Speed levles rock.
Well, the demo I find a lot of fun. I just hope it doesn't suck THAT bad because it's somewhere wrapped up over here. I don't know if thats good or bad.
