Ok guys, i'm releasing everything i did till now, theres a surprise with them.

Please understand that all the levels were done to run in later versions of the engine. I was able to make them load, but had to change some things and use imagination in some situations, so expect bugs and glitches (even crashes).

I think i am done for now, gonna wait the next releases from Andrew and Jolly for messing with more files. While we wait, i'm gonna write up a guide on how i did the conversions and peculiarities from the DEFs versions.

    Finally, here they are: http://www.mediafire.com/download/kw51e6bp1chuwua/Release.zip

I didn't messed with Sonic sprites yet, but should be very easy, just replace or edit the files in "SYSRSRC\PCX\SYSTEM\SONIC".

I'm happy that you apreciated =D

Looking good man ! However the bridge posts, bridhe itself, spikes, skull buttons, springs, rings and the grass sticking up are incorrectly scaled. ( the bridge post also should have a brownish color for the polygon color, You'll have to make a texture by hand most likely since v37 engine displays untextured polygons as invisible.)
Have you guys visited my modding topic over on retro yet? I have some block scale charts posted there. May help with translations between the newer and older .def file block scales.

Also! Would be nice if you could post your hacks there. Please keep in mind this isn't really meant to be a hacking topic here on Assembler :p

( I currently lack time to do any guides at the moment, however I have a lot of knowledge about the .def files so feel free to pick my brain there.
But yeah If you come up with guide or anything like that , would be a good place to post it too.

    Edit:
Here's a pic of the level that I rebuilt a few years back for AXSX. ( maybe it can help a bit )

Perhaps post some of this over at Senntient too? The fanmade builds/hacks and such.

I also had no idea levels with that colorful checkered texture actually existed, thought that was only in the concept art.

I am confused at the moment.

Does this build include additional levels or is it merely the preview released by Jollyroger?

No, because it's a different engine. Could it be remade in some way that somewhat resembles it? Sure. But the whole way the engine works is different. At that point, you're writing an entire engine. Of course JR could say Im wrong, but I dont think so.

It's a handful of levels from the original PackageX leak that have been ported over TO the first Jollyroger release by soniccd123 who figured out how to do so, not exactly new levels. Basically levels from the previous leak which were originally for the later version of the engine, being run in this earlier instance of the engine.

Sure they can run because the newer and the older engine at heart are similar. In modifying the newer levels to run on the the old engine a lot of features do not work and are not supported. Also the gameplay is not the same.

Regarding Project condor, its a whole nother story all together. There is no code whatsoever in the builds JollyRoger has that is related to condor in the slightest bit. Not just that but we (as a community) do not have the assets or the code to look at to start restoring something. It would need to be built from the ground up, in that case it would be like making a fan game because most of building it would be guess work.
