For those of you with issues using Bit Torrent, Ive added the same exact .RAR to my site in the downloads section
I also heard that story; I don't know if its true... but aparently the disc got stolen out of the car, of the developer. And from there we all know what happend. but again; I don't know if this true. It could also be a rumour. Just saying that I also heard that story.
Did the disc didn't came from a ex-Sega employee that sold it in a bid?? Sorry if i'm a newbie in that..hehe!
I remember watching time ago the thing of the auction... but as you can see other users told me that it was stolen from a car..anyways... it's something i would call... "unbelievable" In the case it was true...where the hell is YU SUZUKI's car? hehehe
Seems that making available the demo is getting the hype it deserves...in almost every forum there's talk about it. I hope someday another more demo is released...the E3 thing...with not the best framerate in the world..but i'm sure that's the deal we all hoping for years also...and would be cool to see Saturn price raise a lot in ebay...for people to play it.hehehe This Chris Coffin engine, the other version she has...the later one...heh..that would be also really great.. i think it's basically the same as this one but with a polygonal sonic! a la chrash bandicoot! Maybe if that work was let to finish we should have faced the first polygonal great sonic... Anyways..when the day comes.. i will be there to help to get it.
The story is true. There were only 2 copies of this build made. One copy is somewhere in Sega, the other was stolen out of a dev's car along with some other stuff. Not sure whether this particular disc was the 'dev car' one or the 'sega' one, could be both I guess.
What's the other stuff??? Damn someone have the same cd on the car for years? why was that cd there??? The cd wasn't found because some ex sega employee wanted to sell it through a private bid and contacted assembler?
"oh btw, that disc screenshot of an xtreme demo build on a saturn cd-r you showed me a couple days ago looks like the version that was stolen from my rental car in la when i went to go visit peter and adrian up in la to discuss intergrating their technology into sonic xtreme back then. We all went out to lunch at fuddruckers and i stashed my bag with a disc that had that build date on it underneath the car seat. Came back from lunch and someone had smashed the windows and stole everything in the vehicle including what was in the trunk. i always wondered if someone realized what they had stolen and sold it as a collectable." Quote from Coffin
Oh!!!! Hey hxc, thanks a lot for the info mate. How are the things in life... just some scumbag thieve take out a sonic extreme build out of Coffin's car surely without knowing what he was taking out! Maybe the copy that surfaced the net is the one of Coffin's car or maybe is the other copy that was in hands of a Sega employee back in the day.. Anyways now it's more "safe" .... Let's hope some thieve to find the car of the person that owns the playable e3 demo. haha!
but the question is... does there exist a built of the 1996 e3 thing??? that would be a total kick ass. that was the old menacing sega... damn... why the hell!!!!!!!!! >.< but patience...
Well its a cool thing to have and look at but its still more or less just a tech demo. I wonder if a more complete build exists anywhere?
At the 1996's E3 the build was more completed. I think the prototype of that build can surface, one day. But when ???
