Yes but what i ask is if there is proof that the 1996 e3 thing was playable or not! Anyone knows?

I think yes but the only video we have from this event is the demo video (which was just a trailer). A magazine scan could help us, but I don't even know if a magazine made a report from this 1996 E3... Sonic Cult may have some scans from that ???

even when i changed the region from japan to europe, i still can't do the swap for some reason. and i already tried it with other games and it worked. can anyone help me with this please? thanks.

btw, where can i get the mod chip? i read somewhere swapping isn't good because it wears out the motor of the saturn's cd reader.

what also isn't good are the bad and cheap cd-r's .... have that also in mind... is quite something rare it doesn't work on your saturn!!!!!

    anyone can know why??

well, back to topic, i think that the search for more protos must never stop, in fact of course the 1996 e3 thing..

no, that isn't the problem, i only use tdk cds, i think their even better than sony and phillips. one thing i noticed, is that saturn cds usually work better if they are recorded in speed 4x. Not 4x in particular, it's just that normally i burn them at 52x, the maximum my cd burner can record, 4x is the minimum.

Yay, the Saturn don't like that, even if it's a very good lens (it can read even very scratched CDs) only the 4x speed burned CDs can be read ... but I don't know why.

I've burned saturn games at 24x and they run fine even this one IIRC

It all depends upon what disc you use. I've burnt a game at x52 speed that worked. To be honest though you shouldn't really write faster than x4 anyway if you want to avoid errors. I do all DVD burmning at x2.5 speed and CDs at x4

I write Saturn ISOs at 1x(!) because I use an old demo of CDRwin. Always works and I really don't care that much if takes half an hour, plenty of stuff to do in the mean time.

yes, what i meant is that i usually burn cds at 52, but i discovered that sega saturn only work at 4x. anyway it still doesn't work for some reason, and i tried other games and they worked.

Anyway, i found it suspicious that the download only had 20 mb, even for a prototype i think thats too small.

I don't think I've ever burned a Saturn game slower than 52x -- they work just fine for me.

The Jade gully proto was released, I've played it on my US saturn. But does any one know where the Crystal Frost one from youtube is. I was looking forward to the fish eye lense...

I'm not ungrateful or anything I love this as a piece of gaming history.:icon_bigg
