So now there are number of us who bought PS2 Test from this board... I'd like this topic sticky so PS2 Test users can post and exchange the information since there are so little information out there... to start with I'd like others with PS2 Test - whether PAL or NTSC - play new KillZone if you can. I bought PAL KillZone today and got it refunded same day... my issue was FMV playing. Unlike retail PS2 PAL on my PS2 Test PAL the intro and any other FMV were too choppy to watch - it's like stuttering in every two seconds... what the...? Game itself runs just fine though... only other PAL title I have is EvilTwins and that has no issue at all. All my US/JP titles ran fine with no issue either... Anyone came across with their PS2 Test with KillZone? I'm interested to hear from those of you with NTSC KillZone so if it has no issue I might import NTSC KillZone as the game itself looks quite good... one thing I found bit odd is PAL KillZone has the option under the screen menu to switch between NTSC/PAL? As our PAL TV can handle both I don't see any difference between two... I wonder this is also present in NTSC version... cheers ps. to admin. could you keep this thread sticky? plz? :-D
heard from another forum that with UK KillZone demo the attac fmv stuttered like bitch... maybe some of batch were pressed incorrectly or something? anyone with KillZone demo can test on their PS2 Test and report? :-D
The only thing different I've noticed about my TEST is that Deus Ex: The Conspiracy seems to load twice as fast. It's either the extra RAM or it's all in my head .
probably all in your head mate I'd surprise if that is the case though... all JP/US/PAL PS1/PS2 titles I have ran without any problem... haven't tested with CD-R though as I don't have any at the moment - maybe I should burn ThrillKill for test but I'm keen on wasting yet another CD-R for that crap... this weekends if my local video shop has KillZone for renting I will rent few copies from different places and run on my PS2Test...
Heh, to be honest, got a TEST here, works alright (tho i prefer a chipped ps2, which I have, but PS2LINK dont like the PCMCIA-like network card (i actually do come coding!)) Anywho..couldnt boot homebrew stuff for NADA on the TEST (even remastered w/ the OFFICIAL CDGEN 1.5 (will try a newer one soon) )...master diskj patched, nada Others worked fine tho = odd!
the sole reason I got PS2Test was to run my JP/US/PAL PS2/PS1 titles so no complaint from me. for home brew or emulators I use Xbox so no need for me to investigate with PS2Test. I got X68000/MD/SNES/GBA/NeoGeo/CPS1/CPS2 and even Dragon's Lair original LD game using Daphne all sorted on Xbox... heh at the moment I'm trying to work out Killer Instinct on Xbox...
Thrill Kill is one of those psxgames that won't run well on an PS2. So don't be suprised if it runs choppy or doesnt run on your Test ps2
Same here. I bought a TEST in order to use imports. Now I just have to buy some :smt043 . I just put a 30 gig in my Xbox (it was free, I didn't feel like paying a hundred for a new one), so I'm set as far as movies and emulation go .
well mine plays all JPN/US/PAL PS1/PS2 retail copies and frankly that's all I want with this unit. cheers
My DTL-H30001 plays originals from all regions, copied PS1 games from all regions (but all in NTSC, even if PAL!), copied PS2 games (made as "Master discs"). I will have to use my current collection of copied games on my chipped PS2s.
I also bought it for collection purposes, but I didn't buy it to just gather dust. I fully intend on using it to it's full potential . :smt023
I only currently use my DTL-H30001, because two other machines got damaged by chipping (SCPH-30004 and SCPH-50004) and the other SCPH-30004 is not chipped at all. I was just a cheapskate and didn't want to pay 50 EUR for installation, now I got two damaged machines.
got the component cable yesterday and just now finally had time to plug it into my Plasma screen... Wow! even those 480i titles look good! Jaggies aren't much of problem with me and seeing clear well defined image on big screen is great! Once thing I noticed is with NTSC-J titles the screen is pushed little bit towards upper left corner although can be remedied using screen adjustment - no big deal though since I will be using my green debug for PS1 at the guest room and this PS2Test is for PS2 titles only... cheers
does anyone know what are those option under info screen does? you can change the speed of drive and turn on/off texture smoothing and etc?
It's also there on regular PS2's btw... makes some games look damn better, (ie RayCrisis) but the drive speed adjustment crashes certain games (ie Wipeout 2097)
