I think that first thing is an ease of use thing. Every fighting franchise has a few characters (usually the "star" characters) that are really well balanced, and easy to pick up and play. Ken and Ryu and Jago are all great examples of that. I have no idea how well the casual audience is playing guys that aren't Ken or Ryu, because it seems the online is dominated by hardcore players, who all are now adapting their mains to the new quirks of SFV. Honestly I couldn't think of another free to start fighting game than KI and DOA. Didn't Tekken have a free version on the PS3?
In KI i'm in the "killer tier" so unfortunately it's not the players who are trying to learn that comprise the multiple Jago's. It's the guys who play him because he's top tier and want to win. Which leads me to why many feel that the SF online experience is all against hard core players. When we go online we all have the same league points..zero. This si going to throw everyone against each other until the hardcore players gain enough points to be matched up against themselves more than the casual players. Another good reason for people to wait until next month to get into this game if you're not a hardcore player. I've been paying attention to the various point ranking of the folks i've fighting against and it's usually in the same ballpark nowadays and probably another reason why i'm not getting slaughtered all day, every day like when I first started.
....phrasing? I can't be the only one weired out by saying you "broke up" with a fictional video game character. Unless this is some new terminology I'm not/don't want to be aware of.
Cammy is a long time video game crush. I use the term in jest. I'll say this, the Tier list is real. BUT you get a good Nash player and you will get buttraped.
LOL..tru dat! You really have to weather the storm and try to play your own footsies after he's done. Karin's medium crouching kick is good if there's range and her medium crunching punch is best to combo into something else.
It's March First. Details on Alex, and then Alex should be up soon. Hopefully that patch gives us some of the things we're demanding.
Fair enough. I've played quite a lot of DOA over the years and I just never really made any bonds to the characters. Although Ayane is a badass. Come to think of it, they pretty much all are.
Interesting they went with realistic graphics to start with: http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2016/...hotorealistic-images-early-games-development/ Glad they dropped this as it looked a bit rubbish.
I think we'll see something close to this when Tekken X Street fighter eventually launches. Hopefully the characters will look as good as Akuma does in Tekken 7.
The Capcom Defense force is in full swing with this game. Jumping on me when I voice my displeasure with how the game turned out even suggesting how to fix it. Yet these SAME people bitch about The Mega Man Legacy collection being a crash grab whereas I see the physical release as making amends for the unfinished mess that is SFV Funny you should mention DOA
So last night and this morning when I went to play, I went to "online connect" and.. "this function unavailable at this time" checked event hubs and shoryuken web pages and couldn't find anything on this. Anyone have an idea what's up? Patch? server maint? surprise..here's Alex?
No Idea I'm not putting SFV in my PS4 until the update. Currently enjoying the Challege mode in Mega Man Legacy collection.
I tend to gravitate towards fighting styles. Usually whichever wrestler is in it. I usually play DOA as Tina (in fact, in what's totally not a shameless self promotion, I did a playthrough as her last night in DOA 2 with my new CRT setup), and VF as Wolf, etc.
Gotta Love DOA2. I played the shit out of it on Dreamcast. I have Hardcore on PS3 I don't play it too much. I lean towards Hitomi in DOA 3 onward mostly because I've lost the least on and off line with her. Kasumi is also a beast and Brad Wong. I might fire up SFV later tonight and try to do stuff with Laura. I really like FANG and Necalli. FANG surprised me. Laura seems hard to pull crazy shit off with. Can't stand Rashid.
Here you go Alex Fans. There's also info on the new updates. http://www.eventhubs.com/news/2016/mar/10/first-look-alex-street-fighter-5-march-update-detailed/
I don't think so either. SFV has been pretty unimpressive to me, and I'm not just talking about it being blatantly unfinished. At least the gameplay is better than IV's and Alex is coming back.
