    What do ya'll think?

Personally I think it's a bid redundant after how many upgrades the DS has had already. But since the lite was completely horrible IMHO(Screen was too bright, too saturated , tiny sound) and i'm not quite happy with my DSPhat anymore because of the screen size.

I definitely want one. I just don't hope it has the same issues as the lite:noooo:

Pity they don't seem to have increased the size of the ultra tiny d-pad and buttons...

read about this a few days ago. I don't think it's going to see an international release, is it?

I don't know, no revision has gone unreleased. But I have a feeling it might stay Japan only. But who knows. If I have to import I will.

I should've made the title Gamers with bad eyesight rejoice lol.

I heared the rumors a couple of days ago, but I didn't think Nintendo would be daft enough to release a fourth iteration of the DS. Madness :katamari:

There's an interactive size comparison thing on Nintendo's website.

As you can see, the d-pad and all the butons are all exacly the same size. I bet that L and R are the same size too. I'm sure this will receive US and European releases after Xmas.

Looks good, but it makes the whole thing even bigger which personally I don't like as the DS lite had the perfect fit for my jacket pockets etc.

If a bigger screen is the problem, why not use the max lenght of the top side for a screen (and somehow move those speakers) the lower side can stay the same who cares about that one being bigger anyway.

But wouldn't this mean that there is going to be horrible up-scaling applied to older games? D:

LOL. I'm enjoying the response on neogaf.

Even though this was meant for an older audience, I still expect tons of raving nintendo fanboys to run out and buy them.

I'm curious to see one in action to see how bad the screen will be (it's still the same pixel res as a ds, 256x192).

    - edit -

Also this thing retails for 20,000 Yen.

I'm wondering what the UK price will be.

¥20000 is currently about £132, and a standard DSi (on Amazon.jp) retails for ¥17955 or £118.86. Not much of a price difference there. Considering a DSi is currently £149.99 over here, I could easily see the XL going for £179.99 at the current prices.

Maybe Nintendo will drop the price of the current DSi? I reckon we'll see the DSi for £129.99 but the XL will still be £170/180.

Considering the huge increase in screen size this is quite worrying. I'd like to see a decent quality close-up of a game running to see how it looks.

I d like to see it. It seems compelling somehow, especially if I try to drag my parents into gaming.

What I wonder is what the battery life of this thing would be. DSi already has ~5 hours less of battery life than DS Lite, if I remember correctly, and I can only presume that the LL would be even worse.

Or better. Since the thing is quite a bit bigger there's more room to fit in a better battery.

    No.

    even sheep respond to abuse.

But seriously nintendo fans are the worst and most militant fans there are. Followed by Sony Fanboys. I hate to generalize, Between the Millitant Nintendo fans and the Elitist Sony fans...ARGH.

It's supposetly better by 1 hour due to a much larger battery being put into the device. I wonder what the general weight on this thing is.

Funny. Sony tries to keep making the PSP smaller, Nintendo tries to keep making the DS bigger. :p

One thing I hate about sony is how new models of their products SUBTRACT Features rather than add them.
