Well i gave in & ordered one even though the dsi never impressed me i really don't care about the cameras or stupid mp3 player or even the dsiware but those big screens are lovely & that was the only reason i gave in, it will be nice to enjoy my ds games on a bigger screen.
Just looking at the pictures, this thing looks like a behemoth! Will it even fit in your pocket now? Haha, -Doom
I can't imagine it been any worse than handhelds of the past. Try carrying a PCE GT/Gamegear/Lynx in your pocket, over the years i wonder how i ever managed lugging round such monsters with me. Then again i don't mind big handhelds as i have big hands & struggle with the tiny things of today, i can just about suffer a gba micro/pokemon mini thats as small as i can go but not for long periods of time LOL
Can you... swap the screens on the browser? Like, top one on the bottom, move around the page with the stylus, then swap back?
Quite a few shops in Japan now have non working demo models, they do seem to weigh quite a bit, not sure if it's just the demo model or not, still they missed a chance to make the d-pad and buttons bigger as they still feel to small for adults, whom i assume the new DS is aimed at. Feels a little uncomfortable trying to push the Y button too.
Hmm im playing on mine with no probs, the clicky buttons im getting used to again as it's been a while since i last used a ds with them as i went to the LL from the light. The weight is not that bad it's a comfortable weight & the size fits my hands perfectly with no hand cramp it's the comfiest ds i have held. Also fits in my pocket fine it dosen't bulge out stupidly or anything, not sure about the back pocket. The screens are pretty awesome & the speakers are very loud, pretty much a huge improvement from the light. The screens are very sharp when playing games however when in the dsi menu it looks a bit fuzzy round the text but not that bad really. Heres an example of the fuzzy text in the menu Nice & sharp on the games though like this & this
That screen does look very smart. Maybe the games are upscaled while they've left the menu system as it was on the normal DS which has resulted in it looking a bit iffy. Yakumo
The screen is the same resolution, nothing is being upscaled. Simply larger pixels. My guess is some quick and dirty filtering in the menu, though I cant say without physically seeing one.
Got any more pictures of it running games? The fact that the speakers are loud is a huge plus for me. The Tiny sound of the Lite was one of the factors why I hated it.
Man, you really need to post some images and videos of this thing running. All YouTube has are some idiots who think re-posting the same DSi LL promotional images in a slide show to rock music are L33T.
