Since August 24th I've lost a stone now. I only cycled for 3 weeks, had my trip and not cycled since. Its a shame atrophy is a bitch and I'm fatter though I'm lighter now.

I'm trying to pluck up the energy to cycle again within the next hour and get back into the routine before I go away again.

Also I ordered more Soya protein but it takes twice as much fluid to mix and tastes like mashed potato so WTF?

Anyhow I will attempt to cycle throgh SG-1 message in a bottle or family - I forget exactly which episode I'm up to now!

    Losing weight

I am going to admit it, I am your typical couch potato, most days I sit in front of the computer for hours on end, be it on account of work or for entertainment.

I tried going to the gym, but I didn't like the atmosphere, and I couldn't motivate myself to go to the gym on a regular basis.

But now I found a relatively easy and cheap way to get some excercise and lose weight; I bought a pedometer. I use it as a keyring. I bought the Silva ex30, it is precise and I am satisfied with its functionality. Now I can see every day how many steps I made. Throughout the day I can check how active I have been and decide to go for a walk in case I have yet to meet my goal of about 10,000 steps per day. The nerd in me sees the pedometer as some kind of personal statistics device. I already lost 2 Kilos in 4 weeks.

    Pro:
    - Relatively cheap way of losing weight, especially compared to a gym membership
    - Going for a walk exposes you to the sunlight, preventing potential depressions during wintertime
    - You don't have to sweat to meet your goal if you don't want to
    - Slow and steady weight loss, no yo-yo effect

    Con:
    you tell me :)

That's awesome, if any of you find the idea of combining fitness with leveling up, achievements and such appealing, here are a bundle of fitocracy invites! I know it's helped me a lot personally, especially in keeping track of my activity!

    Invite (Create Account Page)

Edit: If enough people join, we should make an "Assemblergames" group?
